Daroji Bear Sanctuary Watch Tower - Wildlife park in Seetharama Tanda - Ballari, India

Nice place to watch bears in their natural habitat. You can't see bears from near you need to have binoculars or you can get binoculars from forest department people. Rs 2000/- is the safari charge for 1 trip which can accommodate upto 7 people. If you are alone then you need to wait for others or you need to pay Rs 2000. Carry water bottle there is no drinking water facility.

Had a good experience overall. Though only saw 2 bears far away, we were able to see other interesting wild life and the drive 2 and fro was nice wirh a good breeze keeping us cool. The drive was a bit long, but that is unavoidable considering the unpaved road and the distance to it.

You don't really see bears on the safari. There is a hill far away from the watchtower where the forest apartment puts jaggery and honey and the bears come to eat it. You get to watch it from a mile away. If you stay in Jungle lodges you don't have to worry about any of the forest entry formalities

Rented the Safari vehicle and the guard spotted a variety of birds for us. And we reached a guard / watch tower from where we did spot sloth bears resting under a tree and rock. Safari is open from 2pm to 6pm, and cost will be 300 per person the vehicle has a capacity of 7. We also can rent the vehicle as a whole too shelling out the total cost - 2000. Guard also gave a detailed view on the history of the sanctuary, behaviour of the bears. This is for people with patience, if you expect animals to show up, your place is Zoo :)

You could see bears from long distance. Its inside dense forest. Could spot few birds and reptiles.

This is not at all what we expected. The sanctuary is huge and time to visit is 2 PM - 6 PM only, even the person who managed tickets and everything came very late at 2.30 PM. Entry is 25 Rs but they charge 500 Rs extra for vehicle. However there is no charge for local auto so better to visit with a local auto as the main place from where you walk towards watch tower is 5 kms ahead of entrance gate hence vehicle is a must. Now once you reach watch tower parking you need to complete small hike where they also have staircase and once you reach watch tower they give you binoculars and then need to find and watch bear which are more 5 to 7 kms away. Hence even with binoculars you can just see something in black color moving hence if you're going with a perspective that you will get to see a bear very closely please don't visit.

This is open 2pm till 6 pm only. We went in Dec 2020. You enter the gate in a vehicle and pay the fee, walking not allowed. Then you drive to the Watch Tower parking lot about 2-3 km away. Then there is a walking path with some stairs to the tower, the stairs are well made with hand rails, anyone can climb them. There are two levels that look out into the Park. Far down, you can see they put out bananas onto rocks and 3 bears come out to eat, about 3pm. These are rescued dancing bears, the other 100+ bears in the Park will not come out because wild bears don't like bananas. They also pour honey onto rocks and birds, peacocks and even bears come to lick it. You need binoculars or good Zoom lens on your camera to see the bears clearly.

It's a one time visit. Not much to do except to climb some 100 steps and wait for few bears to visit far away mountain. Forest department people feed the bears at designated time during which we could see bears from very far. Carry binoculars. There is a watch tower.If any queries feel free to contact ,happy to assist.
