DARJEELING CAFE & BISTRO - Cafe in Silchar - Cachar, India

For a change i visited this restaurant, I must say the food was absolutely great. I tried chicken Thukpa and their special chicken, it was flavourful and spot on, The staffs were cheerful. The issues that faced can be resolved if paid a little attention. The washrooms were not in working condition, the chair where we were dinning were not best working condition and there is plenty room for improvement in the restaurant ambience. I sincerely hope you will take this feedback positively and best of luck.

I had heard rave reviews about this place. But aside from the beautiful wall that you see behind me, there's nothing spectacular about this restaurant. We tried chicken dry fry, crispy chilli baby corn, chicken Manchurian noodles, chicken fried rice, butter paneer and garlic chicken. The chicken dry fry had good flavour. But the chicken was dry and rubbery. I swear shoes are softer than their chicken. I also wish they hadn't used chicken bones in this recipe. The crispy chilli baby corn was also extremely dry. It was also over-seasoned. The chicken Manchurian noodles was average at best. The quantity of chicken is frankly laughable. Your tongue will have to work overtime to actually figure out the taste of chicken. The chicken fried rice is no better than the pulao you find in roadside eatery. And once again, there's hardly any chicken. The butter paneer was delicious. No complaints about it. I quite enjoyed it. The garlic chicken was tender and succulent. But it had truckloads of salt. I swear if our country ever has a scarcity of salt, it would be because of this restaurant. As for the ambience, if you are a vampire, you might enjoy the dark, desolate background. But if you are a normal human being, you might not enjoy the place. It's hot, humid and dark. Overall, the experience wasn't a particularly pleasant one. And I don't think I'll be visiting again anytime soon. However, if you are looking for a place with inexpensive food, you may give it a try. Edit: The owner clearly doesn't have the humility to take valid criticism. His response was extremely haughty to my feedback. While he has edited his response now, I would take this opportunity to remind him that the current situation is still no excuse for not tasting the food before serving it. Treat your customers like humans. Prepare the food with a little more care. Taste before you send the food out. Ruining two dishes by overcooking and over-salting them and blaming it on the floods shows an abysmal lack of integrity. Also, if I may add, no one is belittling the roadside eateries. Their food is great when you consider the price point. No one expects better from them in this price range. But you are not a roadside eatery and neither are you charging your customers like one. Hence, better quality is expected from you. If pointing that out offends you, then there's clearly no hope of improvement.

Best place to enjoy Chicken manchow soup and chicken hot sour soup. They also have chicken 65 and other dishes in their menu. Ambience is quite good and spacious sitting space for 4 or more people are there. Quality of food served is good. Location is also in close proximity to Goldighi mall Premtala point. Best place to dine with friends.

Love the ambiance of the cafe. Took my mom there today the first time and she loved it too. The lemon coriander chicken is my fave. It is a must try. The staff are swift and cordial. 5 stars from me ! Keep going !

Food is good and they serve hot soups also. They have many chicken options and Chinese platter also. Good place to chill with your friends. Restaurant location is good. Unique menu and they change it frequently. Price is not that cheap but sometimes we can spend little bit more..

I don't know for how long this restaurant will run. But personally I didn't at all like anything about it. The food wasn't served on the table rather we had to bring it in there four attempts. The food was even cold. Who eats biriyani cold? And the amount of biriyani that was given with respect to the price was terrible. The chilli Chicken dry was also even one of the worst that I have ever eaten. Instead of 8 pieces, we got 7 only. Yet we weren't in a temperament to say anything about that. Only good thing was the coffee. Yes it was really nice. And ofcourse, also the bisleri water.

Experience was Fabulous, interior designer of the cafe was good and arrangements were also friendly. The guy taking the orders was too good keep it up and they have special Orders on Sundays and Saturdays .it's good for visiting at night time as well as day time depending on your choice .

Had a great experience at this cafe, the food was delicious, the ambience was also soothing , the staff were cordial too. You can visit here with your friends and family, it's location is right in the main part of the town and its cost efficient too !!
