Danushkodi - Tourist attraction in Rameswaram, Dhanushkodi - Ramanathapuram, India

Amazing place to visit and one should carry a bathing gear along. Beautiful colour of sea And sand is heavenly to walk. Visited during evening and colour on west side was like green glass whereas east was looking like deep blue. Looking at the land shale and stretching out into distance makes you yearn to fly/ swim there( don't do it as it's dangerous).

It was one of the most memorable trips since the water beds are awesome. Filled with colours. Best time to visit dhanushkodi mostly after 1pm till 4pm (September - December). Mostly crowded all over the day. Plan accordingly. To explore all tourist spots auto will charge around 1000-1500 based on headcount but u can bargain. I opted for a self drive bike (Kargi self drive bikes) which is economical.

Dhanushkodi is now an uninhabitable zone and today, Dhanushkodi is a ghost town, with only a few vendors and restaurants catering to tourists who come to see the ruins. The water is clear and turquoise, and the sunsets are spectacular. It is always a crowded place as it is very popular amongst travellers. It is the best viewed through Drone but not possible for normal travellers like us.

The real dhanushkodi. Don't get amused by the reels or video you see in the drone view. This is real Dhanushkodi.. dirty, unhygienic, no maintenance place of Tamilnadu. There is an entry fee of 100 & 20 for respective check points from the TN government but it is so disappointing to see such a great place is an absolute disaster. No cleaning happened here. Plastic bottles wrappers are scattered everywhere. No restriction of plastic or cleanliness towards nature.

Instead of Dhanushkodi village point, travel ahead a few Kms. on the same road to reach "Arichal Munai". The place from where "The Ram Setu" was believed to start. Dhanushkodi gives vibes of a dead place instead the next stop is always preferred as more lively. However during the vacation time the Arichal Munai point is overcrowded at all times and remember you have to leave the place at 5pm although people stay there till 6pm. Just have a look at the place where Ram Set was believed to start, click some pics if you are lucky enough to have less crowd. And look at the place where Sri Lanka stands now. The vendors at the place are spoiling the place by not making proper arrangements for garbage for whatever they are selling and tourists need to throw the paper waste for snacks on the roadside. The best option is to head in between Arichal Munai and Dhanushkodi where there are numerous serene locations where you can see the Bay of Begal & the Indian Ocean on the other side just besides the road.

The best time to visit is at sunset, taking a bike ride if possible would add to the experience. Good road from rameswaram. A completely different part of the world.

This place is surreal and goes like a needle towards the edge of the sea . Place is super hot most of the time. Do visit if you like to be near ram Sethu .

Dhanushkodi is a must watch place for nature lovers... You can see the ocean on both sides of the road while reaching there and finally view the ending land and endless ocean...
