Dantewada may be in news for wrong reasons for some years now , but this small and bewutiful town has one of the most reverred and well managed temples in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The temple compound is clean and very well maintained and free from any annoying elements. The temple structure is like a house without having ny pinnacle. The view of the idol Goddess Danteshwari is really divine. It gives you a sense of inner peace when you stand in front of her. It is advisable to visit this temple if you are in Bastar. Its a 2 hours drive from the city of Jagdalpur through a very good Highway with picturesque hills and forests around. There is absolutely no fear of insurgency within the Dantewada town nor on the highway from Jagdalpur to Dantewada
The love of people towards Devi danteswari shows you the reality of temple, the culture and other things .A good place to visit with your family.

The Warangal ancestral deity of the Chalukya kings got established as Danteshwari near the congregation of Dankini River and Shankini River and hence this place was named as Danteshwari. Highlights - This temple is built in dedication to Goddess Danteshwari, the highlight of this temple is that this is one of the 52 Shakthi peethas in the Whole country. As per the legends this is the place where the tooth or Daanth of Sati fell during the Satya Yuga. The Goddess is taken out for a huge procession during the Dusshera time and hence tourists can pay homage to this temple during this time and also light the Jyoti Kalashas.
Situated in Dantewada, south-west of Jagdalpur, at the confluence of the holy rivers Shankini and Dhankini, both the rivers have different colors, this six-hundred-year-old temple is one of the ancient heritage sites of India and is a representation of the religio-socio-cultural history of the Bastar region. Little is known about this shrine to much of India. The vast temple complex today is truly a standing monument to centuries of history and tradition. With its rich architectural and sculptural wealth and its vibrant festival traditions, Danteshwari Mai temple serves as the most important spiritual center for the people of this region.
We are planning to visit Danteswari temple on 7th August 2022. Is there any dharamshala or guest house to stay for a few hours? Kindly inform to help us
One of the 51 Satipith. In Dantewara district of Chhattisgarh. Around 80 km from Jagdalpur. Neat and clean Temple campus. Simple look, yet nice religious ambience freshens the mind and thought. No pressure for money nor any other difficulty. Good parking facility and helpful people.
