Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary - Wildlife and safari park in Olavan - Kolhapur, India

Fantastic experience! Although people come to see bison only, there are lot to see various trees, butterfly, snake but for that you have to stay in camp inside jungle. Ticket required.

A dense forest reserved for bisons. This place opens at 6 am in the morning. The best time to start the safari is 6 am to 10 am as animals come to drink water so we can see them easily. There are shekarus in the forest which is state animal of maharashtra. We went in may still there were lush green trees. We took a jeep for 10 people which costed us Rs2000 and each persons ticket was Rs 50 Must visit once. This forest is well resereved. There are towers on the main site points which are good photogenic and view from there is amazing. The guids are nice. they try their best so that we can see the animals. Even if we dont see any animal the road journey in the jungle is worth it. It is a 4 to 5 hrs journy so bring your own water bottle, caps, goggles, some snacks etc.

Points to note. 1. Bikes are not allowed. 2. Entry Pass is necessary before entering into sanctuary. 3. Its total 30-40 km area. So you've to book jeep. 1 jeep price is around 1800 Rs. You can share with other 3 people 4. It takes 4 hour's to see sanctuary. So visiti at morning. 5. If u r lucky you'll see animal's. 6. But if unfortunately u cannot visit sanctury still u have lovely road. Backwater. Second visit 7. Best time to visit - oct to Jan 8. We've booked car for 6 people for 1800 Rs. And ticket 200 Rs. It took us 5 hour's. And we saw bison only. Animals are not visible on afternoon as they are resting because of heat. Morning & evening time is best. 9. Bring your own water bottle and snacks. As journey is very long.

Aaaah! what a beautiful place. Many veritues of trees animals, birds etc. Well i vidited this place 2 years ago. This place is famous for wild bisons. Well we left to explore the jungle/santury at 4 am morning. And thats why we were able to see the bisons. Well they are not seen easily but as we went in morni g 4 am we were able to. So sugbest you to visit this place at morning so you will able to see them.

We visited in May-22 and still it was cool place to visit, dense forest, fog n cool breeze in morning. We only managed to spot 3 bisons but climate was refreshing. Management needs to look into service, should atleast provide clean toilets at entry point of forest, should arrange facility to purchase some snacks at entry point (eg water bottles, chips, biscuits, tea coffee etc). Road in jungle is rough and only forest department jeeps are allowed, you can get on for 1800 rs which can accomodate 7 PPL. Safari is for around 4-5 hrs, runs in two slots morning and evening. Entry fee of 200 per person charged over and above the car rent.

Mostly Indian gaur can be seen here. But if lucky other animals also can be seen. Most favourable time is to visit in October. Jungle is awesome.

Note: From June 5 2023, Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary will remain close until future updates. Morning Times are the best, the animals can be seen when they are drinking water, soo the timing of drinking water is in the morning hours like around 6. Also, luckily animals can be seen anywhere if you have a good luck It is better to have a pre night stay and then starting your ride early in the morning
