Dahanu Fort - Government office in Dahanu - Palghar, India

The fort is on the bank of the creek. It is in relatively good condition but it is used as a government office and jail. So you can just trek around it. No information or boards available nor anyone to guide you. It is very small. A couple of cannons and periphery wall is in good condition but now covered with roots of peepal trees. Now there is beautification done and part facing the road is cleaned and painted.Looks clean but artificial.Lost its ancient look.

There are 2 cannons at front gate and 2 cannons at back (at Custom office). There are government offices in the fort,

Dahanu fort not the best place to visit. There is nothing here to see. No history. Else you can go to Dahanu beach that is any time better place than fort.

There is nothing to see..pls do not go and waste your time better to go dahanu beach and spend quality of time

It's a government office not some tourist place

Old fort turned into government office & houses jail for short term custody. An old monument that needs ample of renovation n restoration.
