Wonderful art gallery, which I visited today (mostly to see the superb exhibition on the Delhi Durbar). The Delhi Durbar exhibition is on the upper floor, but there are other exhibits on the first floor too, including artworks by masters of Indian art such as KK Hebbar and MF Husain. No entry fee is charged for the gallery.

What a great collection of art in the Babu and the Bazaar exhibit. Unfortunately the way it was curated and presented was less than optimal. Some examples: In one case there were paintings hung almost touching the ceiling and then also almost touching the floor! Could barely see the small artwork without a ladder or sitting on the floor. There are sofas in front of the large paintings, with people sitting and chatting in them, so I couldn't get close to even see those. The placards were in the tiniest font, impossible to read, and placed at various posiitons (in one case you had to walk over the painting and then walk back to read the placard) The lighting, direct light on the paintings (bad for the art) and if you stand in front of the painting your shadow falls directly on the art The frames were an eclectic mixture of modern, old, and none at adding to the hodge podge display And so many others.....great show, bad display. I'd suggest choosing fewer artworks and displaying them well.
Best art gallery in India. The amount of artwork collection is beyond imagination. You name any Indian Modern Artist and they have it in their collection. Must visit place for any art lover.

One of the best art galleries of Mandi House. Such a peaceful experience with warm cozy kathak gungroo sounds from the 2nd floor. Arts are replaced but the uniqueness stays lively. Best place to visit with family/ friends/ even for an evening date.
