CUCKMERE RESORT - Resort hotel in Munnar, Chithirapuram - Idukki, India

Nice ambience. A little tricky spot to locate but thanks to their guidance boards in the way around and of course Google maps can certainly help you to locate it right. Rooms are very good and view from the rooms will be awesome. Food is good but options are quite very less. Complimentary buffet breakfast is with decent options. Can get better if they can change few items in the breakfast. The staff appears to be less experienced. Can get better if the staff are better trained and few more options for food.

The view from the room balcony is breathtaking. It is simply amazing to wake up to the beautiful valley plus stream view daily. The food variety at the restaurant could be better but the taste especially for the local dishes is good.

Staffs are well spoken and good behaviour. Balcony scene is wonderful. Rooms are well prepared with good facilities Swimming pool need more cleaning. Food average only. Road to the resort little confused and small.

The main advantage and the stand out point is the panoramic view from the property, may it be from the from the dining area, or your room balcony you will be wowed by what you get to see from the property. The location is easily accessible. The staff are very kind, friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite spacious and clean but too bright in the morning as they don't have block coloured blinders. The food is average and cannot expect much. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, the last order closes at 9:30. They have an amazing infinity pool which faces beautiful and serene landscape, a very good place to click some great pictures. Overall it's a great place and would recomend at least once visit when you are in Munnar

Beautiful view from the balcony! The staff is courteous, the location is accessible, the rooms are cozy and the food is good too. My stay was very comfortable and my family loved the property. My grandparents were also travelling with us and the hotel took good care of their needs as well. Front desk staff is helpful too and caused no trouble. Would like to visit again :)

We had a lovely stay at the Cuckmere Resorts for 2 nights after finding the hotel online and deciding on a smaller property instead of the large ones in the Munnar area. As soon as we pulled up we received a wonderful greeting from the front office staff. They couldn't have made us feel more welcome to their property and had a welcome drink ready for us. We was then shown to our room and was told where everything was and how to use it which is a lovely touch at the resort. The room was nice and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I think maybe the rooms could do with pictures on the walls and more soft furnishings to make it feel more cosy as they are quite basic looking. The view from the balcony can't be beat it's simply stunning over looking the hills and the river. We especially enjoyed a coffee on the balcony each morning listening to the birds sing away. We had breakfast each morning, lunch on the day of arrival and dinner both nights. They have a varied menu offering a selection of Indian and Chinese food which I'm sure would suit everybody dining there. The only real issue we encountered was at both lunch and dinner we was advised the dishes that we ordered wasn't available mainly due to the clay oven either not been fired up for lunch or apparently broken at dinner. This was disappointing to be told this over 3 separate meals especially when not advised about this before we sat down and especially when a clay oven is the heart of Indian cooking. Again the dining area would be further improved by having more ambience in there at night with nicer table settings, more plants and softer lights along with music playing. The lady that served us each day though was lovely and took a interest in how we was liking Munnar and told us about the area. The chef also came out two nights to speak with us. We didn't use the pool whilst staying there but it looked nice and clean and has a lovely view from the end overlooking the valley. The pool area did have a terrace but sadly this lacked any tables and chairs to sit outside to enjoy a coffee or a cold drink. This area could be vastly improved with sun beds, chairs, tables and plants. This area could be made very nice. WiFi worked well in the property most of the time but we did have some slow times especially in the room when we needed it to plan the next part of our trip. Overall though we had a pleasant stay at the Cuckmere and we couldn't fault the staff for their hospitality and was made to feel very welcome. The basics are definitely there at the resort it just needs small improvements to be made with regards to appearance and furnishings of the rooms, restaurant and terrace to make it stand out from the rest of the resorts in the Munnar area and to give it a true boutique cosy feel. If you are planning on sightseeing across Munnar in the day then this is a great place to rest your head at night. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us during our stay.

The stuff worth mentioning in this resort is the view they have from all the balconies in the rooms. Great view facing the hills of munnar and a river. Hotel is situated at the valley so munnar town and other attractions is still beyond 20 km away. The staff was polite and courteous. The food was not that great just okay with limited menu. The bathroom lacked basic amenities like hair dryer etc which is a drawback. Altogether would recommend for one night stay and for more nights i would recommend other hotels a bit more uphill.

The view from the balcony of the room was awesome. Food was authentic local flavoured with lot of natural spices. But the room were normal, no a/c and bit hot in the afternoon. No Wi-Fi, No T.v... Swimming pool was the highlight of the hotel with breathtaking views.
