Country Club Chanakyapuri - Resort hotel in Kolkata - 24 Paraganas South, India

Cons: The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Very difficult to reach. You spend most of your money travelling. Besides, the resort is not well maintained. The rooms are dirty (shower curtains are dirty, cupboards have a bad smell). There were power cuts in the middle of the night lasting for more than an hour until we called and complained. They have a generator which is started manually. There were unexpected water cuts too. Electric kettle is made available only upon request. There is no one at the reception after 9-10pm. 5k per night is too much for a neglected resort. Pros: The area is huge, the pool was relatively clean. Though they are highly understaffed, the staff is helpful.

I have to say it to the management of this property that immediately change the staffs, they don't have ownership to keep the place nice and clean for the guests. Bring some knowledgeable persons and restore the glory of the place. Very Poor maintenance of the property. Nothing is properly cleaned. The buildings and fixtures of the property are lying without care and attention. The property have some very good exotic trees! But they also lack attention and beautification. Just look at the swimming pool, from the colour of the water it is very clear they don't bother to clean them and they are claiming it is totally clean!! I really liked the exotic trees here! Specially the new variety of bamboo tree! Big space but nothing attracts

Went for a day trip to this place. The location is suitably far from the city. There are two ponds in this campus, along with a pool to swim in. Proper nylon clothes are required for swimming. Day plan includes access to swimming pool, games room and free lunch. Night stay includes access to room and complimentary breakfast, but not lunch or dinner. The campus is a huge one, with much greenery. But due to less customers, place is not regularly maintained. There are carrom and table tennis in the games room. Outside, there is a huge lawn to play in. There are also swings, slides and a seasaw for kids. One thing that should be mentioned is the quality of food. The cooking was top notch indeed. There is a Banquet lunch available for day trip, which has bengali food items in the menu. Liquor availability is limited.

Great Place for all program such meeting, get togethers, party, picnics

A beautiful and big property with shabby condition. No maintenance of the swimming pool. The AC of most of the room is not working. The facilities compared to the High room tariff are very poor. The awkward check in time at 2 pm is not at all acceptable. If unfortunately you reach before 2 pm they will charge a full room tariff if you want to check in before 2 pm. Poor staff strength makes the situation more deplorable. After 4:00 pm no person will be there to serve you. Only the location is good.
