One of the best places to get access to how authentic kalamkari is made using vegetable dyes. The quality maintained here is perfect and the best I have seen in Pedana.
Amazing art and wide range of design with pure organic raw materials and dies
I love this place the people were so friendly and give there time to explain me how the process was done step by step they also give block print on my sketchbook
It is primarily kalamkari print and not the original craft of hand painting the fabric with little stick. But great to see they are using natural dyes primarily and the fabric quality is very good. The prices are pretty reasonable- INR 210.00 for a good cotton scarf. Being natural dye printed, the washing requires some care...so please ask for it.
Beautiful work process. The artists here have a heritage of that has been passed down from generations. They proudly display the same in a museum space put together in their home cun workshop. They have beautiful intricate blocks and the multiple dyeing processes laid before you here. Each of the products displayed exhibit the artists skill and dedication to his art. The dyes used are all natural and the colour palette reflect the same. The indigo vat is a sight to see, specially since there are so few of them these days. The drying space is a treat in itself. It felt almost ethereal with the winds combing through the grogeous recently prepared fabrics. A heart warming experience.
If u want "Original kalamkari" handicraft visit this place..One and only place in pedana where the whole process is done with natural dyes and in traditional way...Awesome hand block work and great traditional craftmanship...
Srinivas sir and his son is so kind their efforts to empower and sustain kalamakri is appreciated.
One of the best private collections on Kalamkari. Srinivas Anna is a master craftsman.
