Colonel Pillar Hill - Tourist attraction in Honnavar - Uttara Kannada, India

A Historical pillar which is visible from highway. I don't say it's a must visit place, but the view from top is worth visiting.

Historical monument almost lying without any maintenance !! Easily accessible by around 50-60 steps and its located right next to highway. You can get a pretty good view of honnavara town from here.

It is one of the historical monuments of uttara kannada district. It is visible from the national highway. It is installed by British in the memory of their Colonel who died fighting with ruler of Gerusoppa.

One of the historical and relaxation place in Honnavar. You can get a full view of honnavar town along with the beautiful Arabian sea view here . It is also good to capture the sunset in the evening. The monument is a 30 meter tall column popularly know as colonel hill pillar. The monument is erected in honor of Colonel Hill.

~80years old historical monument bult under British col. Hill, on top point of honnavar town to pay respect to fallen soldiers. Nice view from the top; a good place to spend some time over weekends.

Accurate place description. There is a stairs leading from the road towards the pillar.
