Most of the vendors/shopkeepers will summon u to entre in & buy books & other stuffs from their stalls and shops , they will offer u magnificent discount that u will be astonished but remember they all might not be genuine. My personal experience is too bad regarding this. One of them handed me over old books convincing me about those books have no new edition though they charged new edition's price ( I get to know the price and about the latest edition later). They removed the original price tag and covered it with stickers and gave me a fake discount. Though there are such thugs but this placs is like Heaven for us, the book lovers. Along with the new and old books u will find here lot of stationary and scientific stuffs. On this very place u will find the famous Calcutta University, Calcutta Medical College and also one of our pride The Presidency University.
