Great place to stay, except too many flies and frequent power cuts. Otherwise it is located amidst the nature and a great place to chill if you're on a solo trip or with your friends. P.S: The best part was the balcony.

My recent stay at this home stay was quite disappointing. The rooms were not up to par, especially considering the high prices they demanded. I had booked two rooms Unfortunately, one of the rooms that I paid a whopping 3000 for turned out to be a huge disappointment. It was incredibly small and emitted an unpleasant smell. The blankets and bed sheets provided were of extremely poor quality and appeared to be well past their prime, emitting an unpleasant odor. I would recommend lowering the rates to match the quality. Although the location was decent during monsoon seasons, that alone couldn't make up for the lackluster accommodations. The service was satisfactory, but the food was a major letdown. It's advisable to seek dining options elsewhere, as the high prices and poor quality make it difficult to enjoy a meal. Overall, my experience fell short of expectations, and I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this place.

We stayed here for 2 nights with the team! I must say the hospitality is just great, food served here too. Its very close to Parvati river, they also arrange for "Bonfire" on request. Its 3 Km before Kasol market, which makes it a good place to stay away from crowd.

A warm cozy retreat. As the name suggests, owned and run by an army man with precision and fauji ethos. A wooden cottage, which fits snuggly into the mountainous surrounding and gives you the sweet emotional feeling of old bygone days British cottage. We had the most amazing stay, bunking in with my two daughters on the top floor called Attic. Unlike concrete guestrooms, it's got the warmth of a home. No wifi , no TV , no tele only sound of the gushing Parbati river and cool breeze ac are it's plus points which gets you close to your loved ones with no distractions whatsoever. The boys looking after the Dacha are very helpful and courteous. Families can come and enjoy their vacation in the serene environment away from the hustle bustle of Kasol crowd and traffic. The cottage leads to a suspension bridge just 500m away and into a pine Forest, a lovely adventurous getaway. Incidentally, Dacha in Russian means year round second home, which Colonel Dacha is....Dasvidanya for now.

My recent stay at Colonel's Dacha homestay in Kasol was nothing short of a nightmare. The moment we entered our assigned room, an overpowering stench of mustiness and dampness hit us. The rooms were not only smelly but also extremely dirty, leaving us questioning the basic standards of cleanliness maintained by the management. The condition of the bedding was utterly disappointing. The pillows, bedsheets, and blankets were visibly stained and grimy, as if they hadn't been washed for months. It was an uncomfortable and unhygienic experience to even sit or lie down on the beds. We immediately requested fresh linens, but even those replacements were in a questionable state. The bathroom was the epitome of uncleanliness. The toilet seat was covered in stains and looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for ages. The presence of mold and mildew in the corners was a clear indication of neglect and poor maintenance. It was an absolute nightmare to use the bathroom, and the lack of cleanliness made us feel disgusted and compelled to find alternative accommodations after just one night. The overall hygiene standards at Colonel's Dacha were shockingly low. It was evident that the management had not taken adequate measures to ensure a clean and healthy environment for their guests. Considering the amount of money we paid for our stay, we expected a basic level of cleanliness, which was sorely lacking. To make matters worse, the staff seemed uninterested in addressing our concerns. When we brought up the issue of cleanliness, they brushed it off as if it was a common occurrence. Their lack of responsiveness and indifference to our discomfort only added to our frustration. In conclusion, I strongly discourage anyone from considering Colonel's Dacha homestay in Kasol. The rooms were smelly and dirty, the bedding was filthy, and the bathroom was a breeding ground for germs. The lack of hygiene and the unprofessional response from the staff made our stay unbearable, forcing us to seek alternative accommodations. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to stay in Kasol to ensure a pleasant and sanitary experience.

The WORST hotel in kasol. The rooms were very smelly and dirty with a lot of flies. The pillows, bedsheets and blankets were very dirty. Especially the bathroom was very unhygienic and dirty, the sink and the toilet seat was full of stains and we couldn't stay there more than 1 night. All over this was our WORST experience here in Kasol .

Lovely quaint place next to a river and a forest. 4 kms away from main Kasol city. Has a lovely walking path upto kasol from the cottage. There is a helper on site for all requirements. Homely food is provided.

Will advise no one, unhygienic rooms, price is very high, owner is not a good person,misbehaved when we complaint regarding basic facilities,old property,not maintained...... really had a bad time, unable to live for even single night. Highly not recommended
