It's good ...Here the criminal is heard and given justice., this is a big court, Don't know how many people get justice here and some don't.There are many chambers for the judge.Here you will find both types of judges, some government and some non-government. But here people are looted by the judge , They never understand the helplessness of the people.Government judges also take money from people to fight the case while they are paid by the government. I don't like court at all. Because here people meet difference difference

Dhanbad court premises as in any government building is well spread in a big area but at the same time you will see it's not well maintained and quite dirty, court rooms seems to be not broomed or wiped, furniture looks not wiped and dusty, building wall also dirty. I hope they make it clean as court is a prestigious government body.

One of the very good court in the jharkhand state. One of the big judgeship in this state.Dhanbad is one the biggest coal belt of our country and is also known as Coal Capital of India. Institution of Number of cases and suits in this Dhanbad Judgeship are highest in the State. Dhanbad is one of the most important Judgeship of this State. As per Dhanbad District Gazetteer '1964 the District of Dhanbad was created under Govt. Notification no. A.9911 dated 24th October 1956 and came into existence from 1st of November 1956. Dhanbad was originally a part of Manbhum District which was earlier in Bengal and then came over to Bihar when Bihar was separated from Bengal when H. Coupland , I.C.S. Published the first District Gazetteer for Manbhum in 1911, Dhanbad was only a Subdivision of Manbhum District in Bengal. The Head quarter town was then known as D H A N B A I D . Later when Manbhum was District in Bihar, Dhanbad Subdivision was raised to the status of a sub district and the letter (I ) in the name of the headquarter station was dropped. After reorgination of the states the District of Dhanbad was carved out in 1956 and remained in Bihar while the other portion of Manbhum district like Purulia went over to West Bengal.As per Dhanbad District Gazetteer the first Civil Court was established at BAGHSUMA, about four mile east of GOVINDPUR on G.T road in the year 1901. Subsequently the headquarter was transferred from BAGHSUMA of GOVINDPUR on G.T road. Again in the year 1908 the headquarter was shifted to Mouza HIRAPUR, DHANBAD and since then the Civil Court, Dhanbad is running at this place. In the year 1901 Sri Jnananendra Chandra Banarjee was permanent Munsif of Govindpur. Prior to him the Munsif Govindpur - Chaibasa used to hold circuit court at Govindpur and the Sub-divisional officer used to act as ex-officio Munsif. In the year 1908 Munsif Court was transferred to Dhanbad and before this transfer the Munsif was vested with criminal power also. The Munsif was also vested with revenue powers till 1915 and thereafter he was releaved from the responsibility of rent suit In the year 1917 the court of Subordinate Judge was established. Sri Brajendra Kumar Ghosh was the first Subordinate Judge of Dhanbad. The first 3-4 Subordinate Judges were also vested with the powers of Assistant Sessions Judge. After some time this power was withdrawn but in the year 1948 it was found necessary that the Subordinate Judge, should wield with power to try criminal cases and since then the Subordinate Judge, Dhanbad was vested with the power U/s 30 of the Cr.P.C. He was also vested with the power to entertain application for Insolvency up to the limit of Rs. 5000/-, Probate, Letter of Administration and Succession. He was also vested with power of Land Acquisition Judge For the purposes of adjustment of work the District Judge has devided the jurisdiction between two Subordinate Judge and two Munsifs over the local areas included in ;the police station. Given below under the provision of Section 13 (2) of Bengal, Agra and Assam Civil Courts Act 1887. 1st - Subordinate Judge and 1st Munsif :- (1) Govindpur (2) Jharia, (3) Tundi, (4) Chas, (5) Baliapur, (6) Jorapokhar, (7) Jogta and (8) Sindri 2nd - Subordinate and 2nd Munsif (1) Nirsha, (2) Chirkunda, (3) Tundi, (4) Chas, (5) Chandankiary, (6) Topchanchi, (7) Baghmara and (8) Katras After re-origination of the state this area of Dhanbad Sub-division fell within the territory of Bihar. On 01.11.1956 a separate judgeship of Dhanbad was created and Sri R. Saran was the first District Judge of Dhanbad. After further re-origination in the year 2000 this Dhanbad judgeship fell within territory of Jharkhand State and Sri S.K Gupta was District Judge at that time At present Sri Sri Ambuj Nath is District Judge since 10.04.2014.
