I had very good treatment and highly recommend the City Dental Clinic . Dr. Thampi Prabhakaran is a respectable expert / professional and other staff are all nice and skillful. I only had a good impression of them all. First let me write about my background and how I have gotten to know this clinic. Actually I used to work in Trivandrum for 2 years from 2011 to 2013. During that time, I had a dental issue and one of my colleagues recommended this clinic. At that time, I had one dental implant surgery. As of 2023 September (This is the time I am writing this review), it has been totally fine, more than 10 years. With this good track record, as I had another issue about my dental bridge I got in Malaysia in 2014, I decided to come back to the City Dental Clinic for treatment. Beforehand, I had my problematic teeth pulled out in Singapore and I came here with sufficient time for the recovery after pulling (2-3 months). I asked for 2 implants together with other treatments. In addition, as you know, almost all of the metal crowns are not ever-lasting. Old metal crowns get deteriorated and the root is infected. Taking this opportunity, I also asked to remove ALL metal crowns and replace them with Zirconia Crown. I would like to share the major treatment record I have had here. Timing) May 2023 Duration) 1 week Treatment) Removed the broken bridge and root canal treatment, arranged the base of 2 dental implants, and 7 zirconia crowns Timing) Sep 2023 Duration) 8 days Treatment) Completed 2 dental implants and 18 zirconia crowns They spent a lot of time & effort on my treatment, and I highly appreciate them. If I need another round of BIG treamment like above, I will definitely come back here.

As an international NGO worker, I've had dental treatment in dozens of cities in Asia and Europe. From Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Dhakka, Colombo, Singapore to all over the UK. My experience at the City Dental Clinic in Pettah has left me astonished at the professionalism, speed of treatment, high standard of hygiene and latest equipment, cost of treatment as well as quality of service that was unparalleled. So here I am one sunny day enjoying a lovely 'thali' in Trivandrum, and the next thing I hear is the crunch of my tooth chipping because I'd bitten into a stone that was in the rice. I'm in sensitive pain and wondering on the next urgent treatment in an unfamiliar city. After a bit of google searching I came across City Dental Clinic (I called several other clinics and the initial conversation itself did not impress me. I try to be thorough and ask 'too many questions' for some people's taste. Also, I've learned from some bad experiences in the past!). After the initial examination and x-ray I was told exactly what was required. The x-ray also revealed some other problems, which I was aware of for more than a year and had procrastinated in getting treated because of my hectic schedule (I was unable to bite on one side because of this recurring problem). I cross questioned the dentist on the possible avenue of various treatments offered to me and settled on what was necessary within the duration of my stay. No compulsion, only what I had agreed. The next couple of days I managed to receive world quality treatment at the hands of Dr. Thanmbi Prabakaran. Three weeks later I am back in London and I am enjoy chewing food on both sides, something I hadn't been able to do in a while. So, a BIG thank you to the staff, from the receptionist I interacted with, the cleaners who come early in the morning to do their work (while I came early for my appointment) to the clinical support staff during my treatment. If there was anything 'negative' I had to say it would be; a) Dr. Thankbi Prabakaran is straight in his communication. Not the most sensitive in how he comes across. (Personally, I'm totally fine with this approach). b) There are a few juniors/trainees who continually approach and interact with him, while he is treating you! c) One of the clinical support staff wasn't too good with the saliva ejector and the doctor had to keep reminder her, at times irritated.

Wish i had read the reviews before visiting. Dr. Seema is good. Her husband Doctor Thampi prabhakaran is simply an accidental dentist! Not to be trusting your teeth with. He lacks skill & attitude. I was shocked to find that years of experience has NOT endowed him with the knack a good dentist should have acquired. I had to find another dentist to correct the ills i suffered in the hands of Dr. Thampi. I lost much money & almost filed a case but did not have the space to pursue! My 2 stars are for Dr.Seema's skill & her good manners, as well the clinic's good setting & easy to reach location!

Went in with a troubled tooth. They took an xray first asked me to extract 2 wisdom tooth. Made me do a cleaning, temporary filling of a cavity 1st and then did a permanent filling later on. In short I had been visiting the clinic for more than 3 months now and has paid more than Rs.10000 and my issue is still not resolved.

I really recommend people to read the review before you go somewhere, my brother did ortho and it took 4 years and still not perfectly done yet I am disappointed with there service , they just need cash they don't even care about our needs.

Too expensive and irresponsible service. Had me pay a huger amt(compared with other clinics) for xray and had me called thrice after 4-5days to receive it finally. Recommended me to pluck out 4 teeth which wasn't necessary with a second opinion.

I have been going to this clinic since childhood and i liked this place because of its cleanliness and care given by the main doctor dr. Thampi each time i went there. But now as years passed the quality has decreased a lot. Dr thampi will not even check properly what the assistant doctors are doing. They even misdiagnosed an infected teeth which needed root canal to be a perfectly fine even after taking an xray! And i had to even do a re-root canal for a tooth which was root canaled here. Please don't go there...!
