One of the many hidden gems of Palakkad. Beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Best month to visit is October where water is less and you can easily access the catchment area by walk or vehicle.

Worth a visit. You can park the vehicle in front of entrance gate and walk. No entry fee. Even though walking over the dam is prohibited, one can walk along the side and can have a good view. Place is almost empty with very few people. Also no garden/park and no snack shop. The view of western ghats in the background is amazing. Muthalamada is famous for mangos and one can buy if in season.

Beautiful place to spend a quality time with full family. The dam and surrounding places provide an excellent view of the natural beauty. The adjacent Nelliyampathy Mountains multiply the charm of this place. The dam is a natural habitat for many migratory and seasonal birds. Evenings are more favorable time for visiting. The most outstanding thing about this place is, its prestine blue water and breezy atmosphere. One of the must visit places within Palakkad for any nature enthusiasts.

This is a calm and quiet place... If u want to spend some time with nature this is apt for this.. not too city side... Its a country side and so as beutiful. There is no ticket system or anything. This dam is not that well maintained from the government still its calm and u can feel the wind and just spent some time over here.. u can see lot of fisherman doing fishing out there using small coracle. Preferable time is evening.. it will be so beautiful from the inner side of the dam.. a lot of space u cab see with natural lawn.
