There are approx 84 ghats and in Banaras but this is one of the most famous ones. So if you are visiting this place to see the rituals and culture of a Banarasi then it's a place to be. But if you want to sit in a ghat with less crowd then try other ghats in the stretch.
The Chausath Yogini Temple is accessible through this Ghat; hence it is called Chousatti Ghat. steep steps. 60 of the 64 yoginis are idolised in this shrine. It honours goddess Kali. Omkara Das Kashi Ashram is located close to ghat. Choushati Ghat means "the ghat of 64 steps" referring to the number of steps that lead down to the river.
The place is not well kept. It is less crowded. It is a popular spot for boat rides, but it can be a hassle to bargain with them.
