Choonda specialises and takes pride in their fish preparations. They cook up all their specialties on order and never before that. Their bread, such as chapathi and paratha, are so fresh and hot off the pan.
I tried their beef roast and hot chapathis. The beef was delicious, but was only partially satisfied with the quality of the meat. The meat was a tad undercooked, maybe in a hurry.
The ambience is a representation of the traditional coir and bamboo configuration used to mask all the steel and concrete elements. The entrance to the resto is as if through the mughappu of a houseboat.
Good theme restaurant. Choonda means fishing rod and hook. It has a very good ethnic look. Whole dining area are covered with braided coconut palm leaves.
Food is also good. Variety of fish items available here.
The main thing I noticed about this restaurant is the friendly behavior of their staff. Kanava Fry is a must-try item here. Idiyappom can be tried along with Squid fry. Another must try item is their Porotta with Nadan Pothu Curry.All their Dea food items are amazing mainly because of the freshness, They source fresh catch directly from fishing boat.
Choonda Restaurant is small but good one. Ambience of the restaurant is good. It's looks like houseboat. Providing good and tasty food. Ambience and atmosphere of this restaurant is something different and pleasant.

The AC is just for a demo and you will be sitting inside a furnace for sure. I ordered a biriyani and let me tell this frankly, I haven't had such a worst biriyani in my life.
Ordered for chicken fry and even after half hour we didn't got that. But we noticed something really special that if you are a relative or a friend of the staffs serving there, you will get plenty of food and even without asking I may say. My one day is spoiled and thanks to choonda.
