Great location to enjoy. Not at all crowded hence you find the beach to be calm. If arriving via harbour road you need to pay a minimal fee for the vehicle
Chombala Beach is such a memorable place since childhood. This beach really has some potential but it's underdeveloped mostly. There's the harbor on the left side of the beach where boats comes to dock. And the beach is on the ride side next to sea bridge. You'll find Casuarina tree stretching the entire length of the beach. You could drive along the whole beach and you'd reach an abandoned partially demolished building to the north. Wish there was way to gets SUV's into the beach for off roading. But, sadly there isn't. The harbor would be a different experience during the working hours, but it'd be really stinky. You could walk 200m into the sea via the sea bridge on the north side. And 300m via the left side. Also when you search for the famous Velliyamkall rock island, the Google map would show Chombala rock island as the result. And it's wrong, also you can't find the real velliyamkall on the maps since it's 12 nautical miles off shore of Thikkodi beach.
Chombala is famous for the rocky structures sprawling over 2 acres on the sea, 50 meters away from the shore.You can avail a boat service to the spot where you can indulge in swimming and snorkelling. Also, relax on the shore under an umbrella. Near to the beach there is one Kalaripayattu centre, you can watch the traditional martial art of Kerala here and also you can get a Kalari massage as well. If you are interested, just put your step forward to do some basics of Kalaripayattu.
It is a good place to spend time in the evening. There's a small play arena near the beach where kids can enjoy their playtime.

I love chombal beach for the peace it brings to me. This part of the beach have a lot of casuarina trees (kaattaadi maram).
Excellent beach with a harbor in close proximity. It is a stunning sight to see the lights of the boats as they make their way across the sea at night. The beach experience is enhanced by the pine trees. If you're fortunate, you might be able to observe bioluminescence.
