Chinese Room - Chinese restaurant in Pune - Pune, India

I went for dinner here with my friend. We tried 3 dishes here - Chicken Spicy Shanghai Soup , Veg lung fung soup and Veg Suimai. Soups were ordinary in taste just like how you can find them in local Chinese restaurants. Doesn't at all justifies price tag of 200 & 185 INR. Then we tried veg Suimai which took forever to come and by the time it arrived we were sleepy instead of hungry. Service personnel are not attentive. Complimentary starters were served when we were almost going to finish veg suimai ( which we had to remind them ). Sitting arrangement is too crowded and in this if someone around the table orders brownies then may god bless you

Chinese Room in Pune is undoubtedly the best Chinese spot! As a regular customer for the past 10 months, I've savored almost everything on their menu, and the consistent excellence in food keeps me coming back at least twice a month. The Mixed Fried Rice, Pork Rib, Dumplings, and Soups are my absolute favorites. Whether it's a weekday or weekend visit, the quality and service never waver. Though weekends might have a bit of a wait, it's well worth it. Valet parking is a convenient touch. The staff is unfailingly responsive and courteous, and it's a rare treat to see the owner actively seeking feedback. Chinese Room truly sets the bar high for Chinese cuisine in Pune!

I dined at Chinese Room last night with my family and it was really good experience. The ambiance is reminiscent of old chinese restaurants with full length mirrors and high ceilings. The auspicious colour red was a major element and didn't feel too gory to look at! According to the front of the house, the restaurant wasn't packed due to it being a weekday so would recommend that if you dont wish to wait for a table. The complimentary salad is amazing with its pickled cucumbers and carrots with a side of fresh cabbage kimchi. Its sweet and subtly tangy. We found ourselves asking for more to cleanse our palates between dishes. The wonton soup had the right hit of umami and the spring rolls were packed with veggies and flavour! The pad thai could have been more nutty but thats just a personal preference. The chicken bulgogi was a new dish for me and the sauce was sweet and savoury, just delicious! The service is fast and efficient. And though the tables are set with western cutlery, the waiters will provide disposable chopsticks if requested. The sizzling brownie, too, did not disappoint as the waiters left us with a small jug of the choco mocha sauce! Overall a very pleasant experience!

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. The restaurant was almost full on Saturday afternoon, so table reservations beforehand are suggested. It's a great place for family lunches and dinners.

I think it went back after over two decades! Brought back so many memories. It was a post- Church lunch place for us on East Street. A lot of it still looks the same. I chose this place over the neighbouring restaurant which is also famous, because the outside and the entrance was much cleaner and more maintained. We ordered fried rice, lamb and a chicken dish. They were all really tasty and some of the flavours were very nostalgic. I was happy to go back and try their food after ages. I would go back there if I'm in Pune again.

The food of this place is so disastrous that I suffered from loose motions the next day. The taste was also nothing special. I ordered the following : 1. Veg Manchurian dry (3/5) 2. Veg Peking Noodles (2.5/5) 3. Sizzling brownie with vanilla ice cream (3.5/5) The ambience is somewhat good, but does not make up for the average food.

I had sesame prawns, chilli pork dry and fresh lime soda. Excellent preparations, and sumptuous quantity. Quick and efficient service. Bill Rs 866. Totally satisfied. Nothing has changed since years!
