China Garden - Chinese restaurant in Mumbai - Konkan, India

I have read a lot of recent reviews where people have been complaining about the quality of food being dropped. However, I went for the first time last week and I tried vegetarian chinese there for the first time. The Ambience is is awesome. An amazing place to hangout with family and friends. Coming to food, the Corn Curd was not great though I had heard rave reviews. Manchurian is good, Honey Chili Potato is good, the steamed wontons are to die for. The sauces are simply amazing which they serve with starters. Fried wontons were a disappointment. But the major disappointment was main course. The noodles were extremely greasy with a strange smell coming out of it. The gravy with paneer was also bland. Schezwan rice is decent but I have had better than this before. The honey noodles with ice cream for dessert is the most loved dish here but it's too sweet!! Overall after all the rave reviews I have heard about this place I think I was satisfied with the the food and ambience but nothing great about it.

This storied Chinese establishment has gone to the gutters - literally. My family has been eating here for over 30 years. The last 3 times we ordered take out my wife got food poisoning. I ate lunch here 2 days ago and had a DEAD COCKROACH pour out of the jug into my glass of water. If a dead roach can fall out of a water jug, I only wonder what's getting blended into the food here. The food in general was average at best. Nothing like it used to be. We are never going back to this restaurant.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at China Garden. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. The teppenyaki was exquisite. The beef in it was very tender. The teppensoba dish look extremely inviting on the hot sizzling plate. The honey Sesame chicken also tasted great. The soft chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream is a must have. The big plate of vanilla ice cream with honey wonton noodles with extra honey was amazingly scrumptious. The manager Mr. Sharma really took care of some of the issues we had. Er go here quite often and I definitely recommend visiting this place.

Went to China Garden after years and it's still exactly the same! They have maintained their consistency for years and it is the perfect comfort food! The highlight of the meal was definitely the cream corn- which is the softest and creamiest I've ever had. We tried a dry paneer dish in a marinated Thai sauce which had great flavours and is a must try. I however, did not love the manchow soup and steamed wontons. I feel they could have been better. In mains, we called for fried rice and chilli paneer in a gravy sauce which were really delicious and yum. For dessert we had the honey noodles with ice cream which is a classic and is always a good idea. The best part at China garden is that they have half portions options so that you can order more dishes. Even their half portions have a good quantity and is definitely value for money.

Great service as usual. Food needs mo mention, we have all grown up eating here. Vikram served us superbly and suggested perfect order quantity.

Discovery of Chicken in a Vegetarian Dish at China Garden Restaurant During my recent visit to the esteemed China Garden restaurant located at Kemps Corner, I encountered an unexpected issue with the food. After placing an order for two vegetarian snacks, namely fried corn cream curd and steamed mushroom wantons, I proceeded to sample the dishes. The fried corn curd, known as their signature dish, lived up to its well-established reputation. However, while consuming the steamed mushroom wantons as recommended by our server, I experienced a disconcerting rubbery texture that alerted me to the presence of non-vegetarian content. To my astonishment, I discovered a piece of chicken in the dish. The fact that a renowned restaurant of this caliber would inadvertently include chicken in a vegetarian dish left me utterly bewildered. The manager promptly expressed apologies for the oversight and offered to replace the dish. Unfortunately, this incident shattered my confidence in the establishment, leading me to cancel the remaining order and pledge never to revisit the restaurant in the future. As a postscript I would like to add that the upholstery has a run down look and the staff uniform is scruffy.

Food n service par excellence...however, the eaterie has become quite noisy nowadays.. Used to be quiet and peaceful years ago.
