Nice place for dolphin experience.... We go with OTDC boat , I feel a great time.. Birds, fish, dolphin, etc. for view.. There is a museum about chilka... This is a must visit place for everyone.. Go with your family , friends, or group.. I personally fever go with OTDC for reliable and a safely tour experience.. When you going to boat take some biscuits for lake bird (Seagull)

Not very well maintained, but a place worth visiting. The boats take you out for a little tour, slightly expensive. The sea food and fresh catches there are quite enjoyable.

Dont go there. Wastage of mony. Poor quality food available there, nothing to see. You can see Dolphin for 0.5 sec and very few birds seen. Dont buy any jems stone and pearl. Local people sell duplicate pearl. Over all whole day waste and mony waste.

It's the best place for a foodie for non veg varieties.

The lake is quite peaceful . When you reach Chilka lake then you have to go to ticket counter for boating tickets that cost you Rupees 1750 . The whole boat is for you and the boating time is around 4 hours they will take you to Red crab spot, sea mouth, Dolphin point and many more sceneries. in these 4 hours you will get tired so I suggest you to keep at least 1 litre to 2 litre of packaged water and some food or snacks so that you can enjoy the boating. 1 disclaimer is that when you go to Red crab spot 1 to 2 vendors will come to you and show you some pearl and they will say that it is original and try to sell your 4 rupees 300 to 1000 that is really not advisable so please tell them we are not interested to buy else they will impress you by showing some tricks and they will trap you. In rupees 1750 as I mentioned ever you get in the boat and this boat is all for you and you can take 6 people to 9 people on the boat like your family members as you go with them. The opening timing is 8 a.m. And the tickets can be taken till 3 p.m. And the lake boating experience closers on 6 pm so it is advisable to reach the Chilka lake before 3 p.m. If you want to take boating . If you want to see see mouth they will take you to a spot and stop the boat thereafter they will tell you to go by walking to the sea mouth and it takes 15 minutes to reach by walking when you reach there the beach is quite the clean and adorable ,the scene is perfect and you can take photos as much as you can.

Chilika Lake is one of the best tourist places of our Odisha. Best picnic spot. It is being well modified by Government to offer comfort to visitors and foreigners. A number of shops of handmade sea decorations are there by the local people to attract the visitors and children. The local people are very friendly. Parking systems are available. You can travel by train also. The Nalaban Island, bird sanctuary is the best attraction of chilika. In winter you can see thousands of birds descending from different areas of the world. Kalijai Temple is located on an island inside the lake. Hundreds of boats are there in service for visitors. You can visit here by means of boats and motor boats, but it is quite risky. Be careful when you have children with you. You can get variety of fresh fishes, crabs etc in suitable price. Everyone must visit here once with family and friends and enjoy the beauty of nature.
