Chilika Lake, Balugaon - Tourist attraction in Balugaon, Raghunathpur - Khordha, India

One of the points to hire a boat (private, not OTDC) for experiencing the majestic Chilika Lake. OTDC boat point is around 8km away from here. Lake's shores near the jetty are not very clean as garbage can be found floating. Many migratory birds but spotting dolphins during the boat ride depends on one's luck. Small groups may find the boat booking expensive. Note that at this point government ferry service is not available for transporting car or bike across the lake. Tip: The nearby shops sell a local variety of fruit cake. Do try it!

We all know about Chilika Lake so I'm not going into the details of describing chilika. If you wanna see the true beauty of Chilika Lake, hire a boat to reach few points like bird area, islands, Red crabs area and dolphin area. Dolphin area is just a whox because 90% people said, they haven't seen the dolphins. I have seen Local people do potty on the water of chilika which is very bad. Local Government should focus on this and make sure the lake is free from any waste materials.

It's a very nice place, I was told that in a particular time of the year, dolphins and different kinds of birds migrate to this place, and I look forward to coming back when that time comes

If you are planning to visit Kalijai temple, its best to board the boat NOT from here but from from OTDC point which is 5kms by road from here. Its cheaper, quicker and lesser waiting time. Use the below location. P54R+97M, Barkul, Odisha 752030

Nothing is done to develop this location as a tourist place. Please visit during winter to enjoy the beauty of chilika lake

Boating is available here you can visit kalijai temple on boat and other places from here. Both private and government boats are available .

Great Place, Paradise for boating and most importantly you can also see dolphins if you're willing to pay more money. Normal reserved boat costs around 1500 and you can have as many people you want in the same boat.. but I guess preferably around 8 people.
