I believe the sight is much better during rainy season. We visited in Nov in 2023 when it didn't rain enough and reservoir wasn't full; still the sight was good enough paying a visit while returning from nearby Monastery. Walk upto the end was fun too.
A good place to spend some time away from the crowd. There is no entry fee to visit the reservoir. The dams different construction style is attractive. Unlike other dams,it is not well maintained as a tourist spot. There are small shops at the entrance to enjoy some small snacks. Recommend to visit during monsoon so that it can be enjoyed with its full beauty. The dam is situated inside a forest area and there is a decent road to reach there. You can enjoy wilderness throughout the journey. There is ample parking space near the reservoir. You can reach there by your private vehicle.
Nice place to visit. When we went water level is low so we could not see the overflow into the reservoir which is an amazing experience
I visited this place in early October. It was totally dried. Entrance is completely. Before you go here, check if there was a lot of rain to fill the reservoir otherwise it's a complete waste of time. Plus there is no shade so avoid going during afternoon.
During our visit, not much water was there. But it was a good place to take some photos and walk. No parking and entrance fee.
A very scenic place. Soothing to eyes. Here when the water flow is high, and it's overflowing from the reservoir then the channel works seems amazing.
It's a nice tourist and scenic spot. Good view around the reservoir. There is no entry fee to visit this place and there is an ample parking space also available. Also few vendors available at entrance where you will get some refreshments.
Chiklihole Reservoir is place to be visited if your time permits. The place is away from the usual crowd at popular tourist spots and offers some calm and peace to its visitors. The water of the dam flowing beautifully and the lushness of area around create a refreshing atmosphere. The Chiklihole Reservoir, pronounced as 'Chikli-holey', is located between the towns of Madikeri and Kushalnagar of Coorg district. The reservoir is at a distance of approximately 15 km from Kushalnagar and Madikeri and is nearest to the town of Nanjarayapattana.
Nice place with wonderful scenic beauty. I visited in non monsoon season thus could not see much water. Also the facilities are not that great. Only 2 3 shops available which sell fruits and Maggie etc.
