Chhotkei Nature Camp, Satkosia - Featured Reviews (180)
If you want to get digital freedom and experience the nature, this is the place for you. The hosts are too friendly and will make sure you get the best service. Do visit. Most recommended.
Place is good with mountains all around. Calm and serene . But the cottages and tents are not well maintained during off seasons. Also early in the morning they cut off the electricity to wake us up. The food is very simple and delicious also. But the maintenance should be little more stricter
These 3 stars are for good location and comfortable stay, though we stayed at cottages there. Hot water facility is not very good at washrooms (no geyser only centrally installed solar heated reservoirs). Food quality is worst if possible it could have been rated negatively for foods and services.
The rooms were spacious. The nature around the hotel were good. The nature of the staff were good. There was facility for hiring bicycles at 50 rupees per day. The main backdraw were the food, it didn't tasted food and the type of food where monotonous. The comunication between the staff was a tiresome work because the staff barely could speak Hindi.
We went on chhotkei Nature camp February 2nd week this year..This camp doesn't provide games like activities like other nature camps, but if you just want to feel the nature without any interference of your day to day busy life, then this is the best place for you. Because theres hardly any network available on that camp..But if you want to make any urgent call you can ask the people there and make call from there phones. They are always there to help there guests. It was the end of February and winter is going so no rush of people was there.whole area was surrounded by mountains and trees..The people who worked there are local Adivasis.Very down to earth people..foods were delicious..we went for boating in Mahanadi. But unfortunately no Jeep was available that day so we couldn't went for jungle safari..overall memorable experience..
The nature camp is situated in a very beautiful place- amidst a reserve forest. Different types of flora & fauna are found here. It is also a well-known tiger reserve. But the Swiss tent where we were staying was not upto the mark. There was no electricity after midnight & the tents were also not very well maintained.
Decent accommodation for a night stay. Toilets are clean. They're isn't much to see at Chhotkei apart from the forest trek in the morning. The camp is situated at a remote area so try to reach during day time as the lack of signboards on the way might get you lost in the woods. Food was very bad though, no taste or flavour.
Tent and room accommodations are good. Bathrooms are spacious. Food is ordinary. Vegetarian dishes are better. In the evening bonfire is arranged at no extra cost. Staff are cooperative and work hard to serve guests from morning to midnight.
