Chevron Eco Lodge - Hotel in Kausani, Kausani State - Bageshwar, India

A view of the Himalayas with a great garden but that's it! The place is in need of desperate renovation and a detailed inspection by neutral people that understand. Room door handles that are sticky and dirty, missing lamp shades (3 in just one room), dirty (greyed and stained) towels, stench from a broken sewage pipe exit on the balcony (sitting area to the West), termites in wooden floors, broken balcony railings, missing fire extinguisher to the West, broken chairs, exposed and bad wiring (fire hazard and life danger), termites in the run-down flooring, poor English language signages, no plug point for a shaver in the bathroom, mothballs in the washbasin, no tea or coffee in the room despite the water boiler, dirty bins, etc. That's not it... No, that's NOT it... The food is of really bad quality and is almost inedible. They don't even get their chappatis (flat Indian bread) right. Our meal had old vegetables used in it,. The chicken had a skin under the skin (comes from chicken that has been exposed to the elements for too long = bad!) and the paneer (cottage cheese) had a not so fresh smell to it. On a scale of 1 to 10, the food gets minus 10. We stayed in two superior rooms, so go figure how bad the lower category rooms might be. I suggest -- shut it down and fix it all. Train staff and change things in a big way!

Room ambiance, garden, view are very nice. But hotel's food was very bad , service was very poor, staff was entered in my room without knock, they have only 3 people for service for food service, room service and housekeeping....My suggestion is don't go in this property with more expectations. Amazing location to view 180deg Himalayan ranges. The property is nice and cosy. Rooms are good but need a bit more proper lighting arrangement inside rooms. Very understaffed property. Although, the staff available is friendly. Whereas the manager is not so courteous and friendly. Easily says no to things you would ask for and won't even try for it which is uncanny in the hospitality industry. No minaral water bottles provided which is very strange. Food is absurdly expensive for a place which is not of the league. Also, the menu is very limited and quality is basic. Would recommend eating outside somewhere.

Beautiful property with clean & green landscape. A quiet place with amazing view of mountains. Staffs are Courteous!

this hotel is at av ery prime.location with a good view and lot of open space in front. Food was good and tasty, staff was responsive and concerned about guests comfort. Manager Mr. Rajendra put extra efforts to provide facilities to their guests. few improvements chevron can do- like placing a power socket where they kept heater water cattle. it is difficult to find a switchboard in room for this everytime. placing sticker on shampoo and bodywash liquid.putting up a glass in bathroom for guest to keep his stuff I to that. some better toiletries they can also put.

Very good location. Polite and friendly staff. Gadgets and equipments in room.where working. Clean and well maitained hotel and surrounding area. Wi fi in hotel works well. Things which require improvement-Rooms require little more cleanliness. Electric cattle could be placed where.power socket is. More toiletries in bathroom etc. J
