Chengannur - Train station in Chengannur - Alappuzha, India

I'm giving Chengannur Railway Station a four-star review. There have been lots of improvements, and it's evident that efforts have been made to enhance the station's facilities and services. While it's moving in the right direction, there's still room for further enhancements to reach that perfect five-star rating. Keep up the good work!

Despite being located in the Alappuzha district, this transportation facility benefits the residents of Pathanamthitta District as well. Equipped with elevators and escalators, it ensures convenient access for all passengers. While the platforms are generally clean, some maintenance work is needed to further enhance its condition.

The station has improved a lot from the last time I visited in 2016. The facilities have improved a lot and they have underground connectivity to the platforms. With a lot of devotees coming every year the facilities in regards to retiring rooms/ waiting rooms. And the cleanliness can also be looked upon. The station is located opposite the private bus stand. And the railway station also has the sabarimala bus service just outside. Which is really heartening to see.

The station to reach shabari malai. From here we get buses to reach pampa. Lot of eateries outside for 100 rupees we get unlimited food . Chips Shopping available. And full of greenary outside station.

Chengannur (also spelled Chengannoor or Chenganur) is a Town and Municipality in the Alappuzha district of Kerala State, India. It is located in the extreme eastern part of the Alappuzha district, on the banks of Pamba River.[2] Chengannur is Known as The gateway of Sabarimala. Chengannur is 117 kilometres (73 mi) north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram on the MC Road (State Highway 1). Chengannur is connected to Kollam and Kottayam by NH 183. Chengannur is noted for the Chengannur Mahadeva Temple[3] (aka 'Dakshina Kailasam' as a major Shiva temple of South India) and its Old Syrian Church of the ancient Syrian Christian community. Chengannur is also a major destination of Sabarimala pilgrims known as the Gateway of Sabarimala.

. Rating reduced because, except for platform #1, 2 & 3 are not accessible - major disadvantage . Subway or over bridge to platforms 2 & 3 . . Well maintained platforms . Small station . Poor traffic . Average facilities that too only in platform #1. . Announcement is clear . Overall only average.

Most of the trains have stops here except vandhebharath. Private busstand is just opps the railway station

Chengannur station is remarkably neat and clean, boasting modern facilities. As a gateway to Sabarimala and several other nearby cities, it becomes the preferred choice for numerous travelers. The proposed Pampa train will further assist many pilgrims visiting from all corners of the country
