Chembra Peak Heart Lake - Mountain peak in Kottappadi part - Wayanad, India

Nice trekking spot. In case of weekend, please be there at booking counter at 5AM. Only 200 people are allowed. So tickets will close at 5:30 itself. Trekking will open at 7 AM and closes at 10AM. Carry light weight. Level of difficulty is easy only. It will take around 3 hours to climb up and down. Speakers not allowed. For 5 people, cost is around Rs.1770. You will get a beautiful view of hills while climbing it. On the top, you will see this love lake which is the main attraction here. Be careful while returning as it might skid at some places. So carry a stick if needed. Don't go on a rainy season as view won't be there and path will be very slippery. We went with 4 friends and totally enjoyed it.

This is a super place!!!!! Very beautiful and green. There is a difficult trek (esp in monsoon season) that can easily take 3 hours. On crowded days, you really have to plan well for visiting this place. The forest office only allows the first 200 people to visit. They start distributing the token at 5 am and the ticket counter opens at 7. We reached the place at 6 in the morning and could not do the trekking. The next day we reached the place at 3.30am, and we were still 34th in the number. At first, we were doubting if it is really worth waking up so early and going through the struggle to get the ticket, but when we started the trek, it was WORTH IT!! The lake is very very beautiful and the views are breathtaking. It is so green, so wonderful that you would want to stay there for a long long time. My heart literally lost in the beauty of this place! You could enjoy nature and peace to the fullest here. Make sure to get back to the base by 3pm though. Also, don't throw any waste into this place, keep it clean to preserve it for ages. They keep a security deposit for every water bottle that you carry with you. There are no food stalls on the way once you start the trek, so carry some light weight snacks with you. And yes, beware of leeches in the monsoon season. Wear trekking shoes for a comfortable trek.

Actually it's not worthy to do this trekking as they won't allow to do trekking upto the peak. If you are a beginner, It's the right place for the trekking. Difficulty Level 4 (1-10) Trekking will take 2-4 Hrs You will get bread , , , noodles here. There is safe parking place available. They will charge you (20-100) Only 200 people are allowed per day, so try to reach here as early as possible considering the holidays, weekends or working days. They will charge 1770 Rupees for group of 5-6 people.

By Rail: 79 km from Kozhikode Railway Station By Air: 92 Kms from Karipur International Airport (Kozhikode) The heart-shaped pond: After an hour, with the gaped mouth, you stand on the banks of a pond laid carefully on a bed of crispy green meadow. Nature doesn't mince its symbols to tell you how much you're still loved, your eyes well up at the sight of the spectacular sight of the heart-shaped pond which you wanted to see all your life. It is around 3 km trek from the base camp. This is a full day package organized by the forest department. Best time to visit is during August-May. Visiting Time: 7.00 AM to 5.00PM (those who wish to take trekking must reach before 02.00 pm)

It was a beautiful experience, trekking is very long but it worth it, where shoes and carry snacks , glucose. The lake is very nice and view also very nice but don't expect too much fog.
