A paved narrow road splits the houses of the villages and farms unwinding itself to this chowk at the temple gates. A Banyan tree stands to welcome you into the shades. Beyond the gates is this beautiful temple, chiselled to ornamental details. The campus is no less beautiful as well. Additional details: Parking space is adequate. (Free) The road to the temple is very good in condition but it is narrow. Be mindful of oncoming vehicles and drive slowly as it passes through the village. Google Maps is accurate, nevertheless ask the local if you get confused.

It's one of the ancient Lord Shiva's temple in cuttack district. The temple is surrounded by many banyan trees. It just seems like situated in the lap of nature . It's a very peaceful place . Here the SHIVALINGA is situated 15 feet(maybe) down to the normal ground surface and this is the most amazing part of the temple .

Ananga Bhima Deva III - After defeating the Kalchuris, Anangabhima faced a major threat from the invading Muslim forces of Khilji Maliks from Bengal. His prime enemy Ghiyasuddin Iwaj Shah, the ruler of Bengal was a successor of Muhammad bin Bakhtiyar Khilji who was a successful military general of Qutb Ud Din Aibak. Ghiyassuddin had built a powerful navy and set out for conquest of neighboring kingdoms like Kamarupa and Odisha. He invaded the northern territories and also sent naval armadas over the river Mahanadi to capture his newly founded capital, destabilize his military strength and occupy lands. During the series of these events the newly built Barabati Fort was successfully used to repulse the enemy attacks from the river. His able minister and military adviser, Vishnu commanded a force that chased the invading Muslims on the land out of northern Odisha.
