Charcoal is a great place to spend your evening when you're in Udaipur. The beautiful surroundings of Lake Pichola and the vistas of the city skyline are complemented by delectable food. They claim to serve authentic Mexican cuisine; although I'm not well-versed in authentic Mexican food I can assure you that the food is very tasty! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the place.
The food wasn't good compared to other places in the area. Half of the dishes weren't available. Half of the alcoholic drinks weren't available. The service was good, Indian people are always adorable. Atmosphere very quiet, I was expecting something with Indian music. Nice view.
Me and my friend didn't like spicy and this was the perfect place where to eat something not spicy and really good. We went twice because it was really good, the rest of the food, the location everything was really good, they are just a bit slow regarding the service but apparently it's common in India. Anyway if you are tired of Indian food and you want to something normal or not this is the right place
We ate here for lunch and then again for dinner the same day and had a great experience both times. Extensive menu of bbq/tex-mex/indian dishes - we had the paneer bbq platter, pineapple and paneer skewer, hummus mezze starter and fish tacos and were impressed with all of them. Lovely outdoor seating overlooking the lake for the evening and great service.
I can say the best evening of udaipur at Charcoal by Carlsson. Food was lip-smashing and the best part was information provided by owner Mr. Shakti singh and best service provided by Chandraprakash. The ambiance is amazing we saw the best part of udaipur from the Charcoal roof top. Really a heartwarming experience for us . Thank you Charcoal team .
