Charachira Pond - Pond in Thiruvananthapuram - Thiruvananthapuram, India

A walkway is being built around it, I believe it's almost complete. It's a great place for an evening stroll, but the lake has deteriorated a lot. It's restoration and beautification should be prioritized higher.

Saddened to see the pathetic condition of the pool ..strewn with plastic wastes and other rubbish. If one takes a dip into the pond, he will surely get some kind of skin disease...it's a garbage pond ..with algae all around. Only one year before the govt had renovated it..but what is the use??? The whole blame goes to the local community and no one else!!

I resided almost six months in home nearby pond the pond is big and washed but it contains a lot of weeds. Afrian Algaes , pistia,Eichornia , etc . The pond contains much organic nutrients and because of that the fishes cannot survive well with Low Dissolved oxygen. The water is good but it is polluted in the sense that it is at the verge of eutrophication. Trivandrum corporation is taking water for various construction related purposes , the water quality is somewhat good even though it is not useful for drinking purpose. Many time the government has allocated fund to rejuvenate this pond but the implementation of Policy was lagging and it is not took place correctly so it is an urgent need of the hour to take action to rebuild the pond or the clean the pond because it's such a precious asset in the middle of Trivandrum and it can provide plenty of water for drinking and other purposes

Located , on the way between plamoodu and kuravankom.. A pond of aprox dimension 100*50 m2. Careful not to fall or swim or even dare to get into the water.. It's muddy and Marsh land... Not a suicide point either for the same matter, because u will be watched by the some on from the neighbour (accidently or intentionally).. Have a good evening in Charachira pond

In few years it is so sure that this pond may not exist there. The pond area is gradually encroached. For all the non drinking purposes in the entire Trivandrum district, I have heard that this pond water has been supplied. Those people who farm fish in their houses can collect the feed (the algae matter) for it, from this pond. Sati chechi has a thattukada close to the pond. Thanks to her for all the hot dosas and sambar..

The unknown pond. Not to use. Fully water grass spread. Recently innavated side wall constrated. Future this pond use for swimming pool or any other water parks. Located near the road side. Future lots of parking facility available here.

It is not cleaned properly. It is one of the landmark for Kerala State Civil Service academy. The pond is really big but is not clean. One can use this as location for online orders as it is known for everyome
