1. Good place to visit for half day. 2. Go either in morning or evening. 3. Visit shiva temple inside cave. Sit for sometime. You will get very good vibe here. 4. Wear good shoes while entering in cave side. 5. Go bare foot if you would like to climb any big stone in the cave as it's slippery. 6. Lake is just awesome. You can sit near lake. In evening, the wind flow, mountains & voice of is simply awesome. 7. No ticket required. 8. Free Parking is available for both two & four wheeler.

Must see if you are physically fit and not afraid of dark and not claustrophobic. To fully understand the place and see all spots inside the cave , best thing you can do is hire a guide. Guide explained to us in detail, took us inside the cave and had torch. Loved the place , saw the places inside the cave, how sadhus user to live and the paintings and other works. You need to wear comfortable foot wear, shoes etc.

Had heard a lot of stories about this mysterious place. Finally had an opportunity to visit. The cave was an enigma. Have to take a guide for proper explanation of the architecture and history. The lake looks serene surrounded by rocky hills.

Chandravalli is an archaeological site located in the Chitradurga district of the state of Karnataka, India. The region is a valley formed by three hills, Chitradurga, Kirabanakallu and Jolagudda. It is a semi-arid region with scrub vegetation with a stream running through it. It's very scary inside the cave, as there is no light and for the next 20 mins you have no connection with outside world.

It is a nice place to explore with a bit of history involved. The parking is good and huge. The main cave is accessible through a small walk, then followed by 30-50 steps to the top of the small hillock. The cave is small and very dark. we took help of guide (charged 200 Inr), who had shown important places inside with little bit of history associated. Unlike other caves, which would span in length, this Chandravalli cave is a small cave of 80-foot depth at the most deepest point. However, it doesn't feel such deep while taking the tour. This place is used by sage to stay with proper living, drawing, meeting room, bedroom, and pooja rooms. It is also carved out of a hill underground. As per the guide, it is also a place for the king when there are enemy attacks. The cave is designed with multiple exit doors inside as a way to confuse enemies The cave itself is very dark and small with little steps inside. In some areas, one needs to care for head and walk with some amount of bending. The meeting room inside is a very calm place no matter how much noise is on the ground level. The cave is designed with natural air circulation and does not feel suffocatiated at all. Apart from Cave , the surroundings behind the cave have some big rock structure which looks like eagle in one view and like a snake in second view. Worth the visit for history lovers.

Such a beautiful place! Just after the rain it was looking so peaceful, green.. lake is so serene.. the rocky hills make such an incredible skyline.. I am so happy and grateful that such places still exist!

Archaeological Site dated back to 4th Century 600 yr back a baba used to have his math in this cave
