Chandrakona Rajbari - Historical place in Chandrakona - Medinipur West, India

The area is called Chandrakona Town , named after Raja Chandraketu. But, unfortunately the heritage building has no maintenance from the Government or local people. Even it's not treated as a heritage, no fencing at all. Nowadays, it has become a stable for cows and goats .

There are many such impressive heritage buildings at Chandrakona Town. which lacks vision and maintenance. The Rajbari is situated near Thakur Bari Bajar . Once you enter you would find the poor condition.The Rajbari appears to be quite old with huge backyad.It has its own Hanumanji (Bajrangbali) temple.This is also pefect place for those looking for picnic spot outside of city Kolkata. The Rajbari has small quarters and temples.The place is not safe for Kids & aged persons.I want to draw the attention of the Government to please restore this before it turns into ruins once and forever. Such a pity that living in a place where such a historic more than 500 years building is in its ruins.Now it becomes a place of cow shed, bushes and jungles all around.The Hanumanji temple is still intact and the priest is taking care this place.Most of the palace is collapsed, but few places are intact.Nothing important to explore. You can avoid if you want. If your travel route is going through Chandrakona Town, then you should take a look into it.

This is an ancient kingdom but the place has shrunken due to the inadequate focus. We should preserve such heritage to tell our modern world that our historical people had so much knowledge about architecture. I would like to request to our govt to preserve this place as this place has rich history.

I request the owner of the rajbari to please restore this before it turns into ruins once and forever. Such a pity that living in a place where such a historic more than 500 years building is in its ruins. And the govt nor anyone can restore this place. Its a place of cow shed, bushes and jungles all around.

One of the best surviving architecture marvel of West bengal heritage. Temple is amazing but requires some maintenance and there is a room type building built by somebody in the temple complex which obstructs the view. Rest nice
