Chandil Dam, Chandil - Tourist attraction in Chandil, Gangudih - Saraikela Kharsawan, India

First glimpse of the scene gave us a precious moment. It was a great experience for us. No ticket required for entry. Around Rs 30 for parking only. Recommended: Once for the boat riding & try to go here in October to February afternoons when sunset means sunset time. It would love to look more beautiful. Boat riding charges Rs 100 per person.

What a beautiful dam. I would say 'damn'. The parking space is ample and the rate is Rs 30. A little uphill driving is required. The dam is excellent and there is a speed boat service which is for 5 minutes and Rs. 100 per head. You should expect a queue to get into the boat. The speed boat ride is strongly recommended. The water is also clear and smooth. Many food options are available beside the dam. Experiencing sunset from there will be a forever-remembering moment.

-Picturesque! To say the least. Been to Chandil dam the last weekend and it was a fabulous experience. Quite amazed to see the beauty of this dam! Those three intriguing hill tops draws all of the attention. Reaching there with a car wasn't that difficult although reaching that place by public alternatives might get you into some problem. The water there was clear and some of us even had a bath. Although taking bath requires quite a bit of care because the banks are filled with sharp stones and the dam is deep. We even saw the presence of speed boats there but particularly that day those were not operating. Anyways, taking your time to visit Chandil will definitely create a good memory for you. Obviously for its engaging landscape!

Beautiful place. The dam has created a huge reservoir or lake out of Subarnarekha river surrounded by small hills. Boat ride is available. There are food stalls and small restaurants.

Chandil Dam is located only 6km away from Chandil Railway station. You can hire Auto from Chandil station to visit this place. This Dam is built on Subarnarekha river. People mostly comes here in monsoon & winter season. Boating facility is available here. There few food shops here where chowmin, rice, chicken, cold drink, chips etc are available.

It was truly a mesmerizing experience which I had in Chandil Dam. The scenery was just breathtaking at the time of sunset and the water was really calm. We had done boating as well, it was just mind blowing. The charges for boating are 100/head. You will sweat a lot in summers so I would advise you to stay hydrated at all times during your visit there. The Dam is really old and equally powerful amd it's one of the biggest damn I have ever came across lately. You should try visiting there with your family.

Nice view. Good boating experience. Either 3 people minimum required to go. Cost of ticket is Rs. 200. Life jacket to be worn We have to see in rainy season. It can be developed very bigger way. Place has a good potential to improve as a tourist spot.
