It's one of the twin hills, to trek on, as an option. This is a little shorter in height then its twin Vandangad. Takes about 1.5hrs to climb and an hour to descend. Rocky steps in some places. There is a temple and a dargah on the top. Been here earlier elite 90s, now most of the climb is well laid out.
Vadangad fort is located in koregaon taluka. Fort is constructed by Raja bhoj in 11 century. After shilahar vajapur adilshah ruled on this fort.After Afajalkhan war Shivaji Maharaj won this to fort and renamed vadangad and chadangad. To reach the top of fort there is a two way one is from belmachi villege and another is from east side of fort from Ganesh temple.

We do get snacks on the very start of the fort. But I suggest you to not carry any eatable up towards the fort. As, there are many monkeys and they would snitch your bags and can cause you harm(they haven't eaten from a long time).
Apart from it, there is so much to gain know abiut the history as you reach the top of the fort.

According to the evidence from the manuscripts found written on copper plates the Chandan and vandan forts were built by King Bhoj-II of Shilahar Dynasty in 1191-1192. King Shivaji won these forts from Adilshah of Bijapur in 1673. It was under control of Marathas till 1689 after it passed in the hand of Moghuls. In 1707 it was won by Ch. Shahu Maharaj

Every year as per Muslim calender in the month of Rabi al-Akhir on 11 date there is the fair.
Devotee comes from Satara ,Sangali, Kolhapur ,Pune across all over Maharashtra and Some part of Karnataka also.
Very peacefull place this is.
Very difficult and tough to climb on this mountain.
But when you reach top of the mountains the feeling is very very different.

One of the best Place to Visit. Once you reach at the top of Vandan Fort You will see 360deg View all Surrounded by beautiful Valleys and Small Small Villages and Windmills. Just make sure before going there's no proper parking for cars and bikes so go prepared also not available any hotel for good lunch so take meals or snacks for the celebration after reaching top. Actually it's not the hard trek to be frank But you shouldn't eat anything before going for this trek it might get hard for you. Bring lot of water with you also Beware of monkey s they are all around to snatch your bagpack. Best time Would be Morning so cannot get problem with sunlight after 10-11am. HAVE A GREAT TREK
