There are multiple ways you can reach here. The most exciting being the hike to the top from the bottom-most parking section. The boring ones being the halfway hike, quarter hike(you can reach till here in a vehicle) or directly going to the temple in a vehicle. It's a 1000 ish steps walk from the bottom. The halfway to the top, you get your first road way where you can come through the vehicle if you dont want to hike all the steps. Here, you can find some street vendors selling juice, water, crispsand some fruits. The same thing another 250+ steps. Once you reach the top, there are street vendors selling quite a range of things from foods to juices to jewelleries. There is also a road way if you dont want to hike at all. I went to the temple on a friday at 5 in the evening, and it was really crowded, the darshan queue was really long. So do a bit of a research if you want to enter the temple. At the top, in around a temple proximity, you will find a lot of monkeys and they will try to snatch your things. Be cautious on your belongings, never show them their food and never make an eye contact with them. I saw total of 4 monkeys snatching foods on the same day. While returning down, I returned when it was already dark. Since, it's a jungle area, there were a lot of insects flying around and i am not sure if it was a bat or not but there were multiple bird kinda thingies flying around continuously near me. Coming to parking of your vehicles, you have got the parking area at the bottom for a hike. And the public vehicles for the bottom, you can find an auto easily to come to the place but for returning, it will take some time. You can also find a bus at a walking distance of 1-2kms from the bottom. Note: do not go for a hike when it's already dark, they don't let you enter. I went in the dark for the first time and had to change my plan for the next day.

Better to climb between 6 to 8am nd the feel when u reach the top by climbing these steps gives u different typ of happiness. Total 1000 steps are there nd it takes up to 1 - 1.30 hr to reach the top (Depends on person's capacity) . And there's no problem with snacks you'll get it for every 50 to 100 steps . It's a place of lord chamundi Thahi , the avatar of Parvati to kill a demon called Mahishasura. It's a regional God of Karnataka . it as two ways to get into this hill one from normal bus way & other from climbing through the steps . which most of them choice . it have 1000 steps to climb takes approximately 45 minutes for normal people. more than hours for aged one, if you go through steps climbing around 700 steps you will find a huge NANDI STATUE one of biggest in India which you can spend 30min also can have a snacks, while climbing you can experience nature & landscape of Mysore city at view point, at regular interval you can find a small kind of a shops which will be selling water, juice, fruit etc in case you are thirsty it's going to help. also small temples beside the steps these are the advantage if you choose the path by climbing. If you go by the bus you can see more number of city view in landscape as like in a hill station and nothing else, while coming to the fundamentals it's well maintained and around the temple and you can find a tap & drinking water and the public toilet also room,hotel fancy shops. During the festival season (dasara & ashada massa) & holidays there is a huge crowd of devotees . bit low on normal days.from morning 9 Till 2 pm 3:30pm to evening till 7 pm is a darshana time . May varied in a festival season and other occasional days. No matter how much the crowd is there is a proper que systems along with the paid que system so you don't feel difficult to get lord chamundi Thahi Darshana if you are in Mysore for a holidays please visit once it's beautiful

Good one and have to visit when there is very less crowd.. Had a very good Dharsan. You can climb the stairs which is close to 1000 steps. Can view the entire Mysore city.

Segregated parking spots, clean at all times. Safe, friendly and wheelchair accessible space. Closer to the Chamundi hill steps, well lit and maintained space for both 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers.

The place has ample parking for visitors. Either you can pay and park or leave on foot paths. You can easily locate this place. Also there is a small juice point who is having some variety of juices and sharbat which is unique. You can find much crowd during weekends than weekdays. Approximately 1000+ steps in total. Along the way you will cross huge Nandi idol where you can have some break and refresh yourself with energy booster drinks and fruits. Also you can find some view point in the middle of the journey where you can enjoy sometime with nature view. Throughout the steps there is plenty enough trees which gives you shade. Average time is 30-45 minutes to complete. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stepping journey to the hill. And then got the blessings form chamundeshwari temple. By the time at 8.15 am it was very less crowded with direct entry to the temple. Then again I got down with the steps again.
