Awesome views, stop here for a great view of the valley and chamera lake
It was beautiful n peacefully, but lots of broken booze bottles. People should know better.
Chamera Lake Viewpoint is a popular tourist destination known for its breathtaking views of the Chamera Lake and the surrounding mountains. The viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding landscapes, making it a perfect place for photography and sightseeing. The place is well maintained and some parking space is also available.
Chamera lake is on the way to Khajjiar from Dalhousie via chamba route which takes around 1.2-1.5hrs to reach Khajjiar. And you can see this beauty on the way. Do take this halt surely to enjoy this mesmerizing view. Honestly the whole route is very scenic specially when you pass through the pine forest. Do not miss to click the pictures there as well. Definitely highly recommended and must visit place.
Chamera lake is the reservoir of water that is collected behind the Chamera Dam, that was constructed across the River Ravi a few kilometres away from Dalhousie in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. After completion of all three phases of the hydro-electric project, this power station generates a out 1000 MW of power for this region. In addition the catchment area of the dam is more than 470 square kilometres. The view point is located high above the reservoir, along the Dalhousie - Chamba road and provides a very scenic view of the lake and it's environs.
It was an awesome experience here. Water was so clear & blue. Never seen such clear water. We also did speed boating. Couple ticket charges are 1350/- & per person is 500/-. They also have streamers i.e. normal boats for which they charge 400/- per person. Speed boating was actually the best experience. Totally enjoyed it. Worth the price. Do visit here.
The view of the lake is awesome combined with the mountain ranges.
Wow what a serene view. Colour of the lake is sea green which is rare. Whole ravi river is of this colour. It's amazing to see.
