Chaiko - Chai Lovers Unite - Tea house in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

Writing this review after visiting Chaiko a couple of times now. I've had all the teas on the menu, almost all the food as well. I love the special matka chai there, but recently had the turmeric chai and that was really good as well. Veg Cheese Maggi is my all time favorite, I get it almost every time I go there. As for desserts I highly recommend the homemade walnut brownies, the drizzle of chocolate syrup enhances the flavor even more, the pairing of brownie and chai is heavenly. The service is top notch, very friendly and polite. Chaiko gives a very cozy vibe when you enter. Rustic and simple aesthetic.

I personally loved the homemade fish cutlet & veg poha.. Worth trying for if you're looking for a quick bite.

A must visit place for all the chai lovers. The place is cozy with good vibes and good music,friendly atmosphere. The food is amazing , perfect place for you evening plans.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, staffs are friendly. They know what they are doing and what they are talking about and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Deserts are pretty good. They have varieties of chai's and for their prices it's 100% worth it.

"I recently visited Chaiko in Shillong and had a fantastic experience. The cafe serves delicious homemade cookies and dry cakes that were freshly baked and on point. The cafe owner Ms. Manjitha was very kind and welcoming, making the tea experience even more enjoyable. In discussion with her came to know how she started post covid lockdown and how she is trying to built up Tea culture in Shillong. I had the pleasure of trying their Masala(Spiced) tea and Ginger tea, and both were perfectly balanced in terms of spiciness and taste. It is rare to find authentic tea in Shillong, but this tea cafe is definitely one of the exceptional places that serve it. The best part of the experience was the long-lasting aftertaste of the tea. Even after finishing my cup, the delicious taste lingered in my mouth for a while, making me crave for more. The ambiance of the cafe was warm and cozy, making it perfect for a peaceful break or catch up with friends. I was staying at Courtyard by Marriot and Chaiko is only 100 meters from Marriot and one can easily walk down till there from PB (Police Bazar area) also.. Overall, I highly recommend this Tea joint to anyone who wants to indulge in freshly-baked cookies and cakes with a perfect cup of tea. The cafe owner's hospitality and the delightful taste of their tea will surely make your visit worth it."

Warm and cozy ambience combined with rich tea flavors and yummy baked goodies made for an amazing and memorable experience. The lemon grass tea with an aroma that would soothe your nerves, and the home made fish cutlet will definitely activate your taste buds.
