Char Chinar, also sometimes called Char Chinari, Ropa Lank, or Rupa Lank, is an island in Dal lake . Dal Lake includes 3 islands, 2 of which are marked with beautiful Chinar trees. The island located on the Lakut Dal (small Dal) is known as Roph Lank (Silver Island), is marked with the presence of majestic Chinar trees at the four corners, thus known as Char-Chinari (Four Chinars).The second Chinar Island, known as Sone Lank (Gold Island), is located on the Bod Dal (Big dal), and over looks the holy shrine of Hazratbal.

Char chinar which is also well known by the names such as Char Chinari, Ropa Lank or Rupa Lank is situated in the Dal lake. This group of Island consists of 3 individual islands. Two of them have beautiful Chinar trees. This island is marked by the presence of 4 Chinar trees which are situated at each of the four corners of this island. It is said that brother of Aurangazeb constructed the Rupa Lank, the second island is located in the Lokut Dal and has a shrine of Hazratbal. Talking about chinar trees, these trees belong to the eastern Himalayas and are long-living trees. Due to these reasons, they are widely preferred in gardens. They even have many medicinal properties. Well if you are looking to escape the hustling and bustling of the city then this is the perfect place for you to take a break!
