Center Square is a well designed and green decorated open area and few umbrella shades are also installed here at outside of the railway station, for easy to relax and can spend few minutes. Nice to see
Visiting Chennai after almost three years, one of the first things that grabbed my attention is the cleanliness around the Madras Central railway station. No amount of name-changing will remove the vibe of 'Madras Central', a vibe I'm attached to since I first alighted here in 1977, and have frequently visited since.
The Central Square just before the station includes a lovely green area, swanky new-age smart bus-stops, fountains etc. It's less than three years old, and asa concept is great. The greenery soothes the eyes and the fountains and the seating soothe tired limbs after long journeys and makes waiting for a bus a pleasant experience.
Well maintained area for passengers to relax outside the railway station. There is underground parking for vehicles. Metro Train can be assessed from here as well as suburban trains too. Great initiative by the authorities to make this place beautiful and well maintained.

HOW TO REACH : Right next to the central Suburban terminal and the mail railway station. Easily accessible by road and MTC Buses
AMENITIES: Clean benches to sit on under shade. Lighting also provided at night. Gets breezy in the evening which is good considering the Chennai heat
