Centaur Hotel New Delhi Airport - Featured Reviews (2292)
This place is extremely close to the airport. Hotel is spread over a sprawling area and appeared to be a luxurious and happening place once upon a time. Even now it is very good but needs some maintenance in some areas.
It was an Indian Airlines hotel. The current staff appears to be from the airlines. They are extremely courteous and warm. Food portions are very good and tasty. Rooms are very large and comfortable.
There is a sprawling lawn area with huge and ancient trees like rubber tree, jasmine trees, banyan trees, night jasmine trees etc... There are many peacocks in the premises. Guests can see the take off and landing of all flights from the airport. However, since it is a huge hotel, maintenance needs to be looked into a bit. Otherwise it is an excellent choice.
It has been my first time. Rooms are spacious and feel rich. Staff received us in good manner and their hospitality is good. Services provided by staff are most appreciated. It has Good parking facility.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel, and I must say it was far from what I had expected. At first glance, the hotel's exterior resembled something out of a horror movie, complete with a rundown and eerie appearance that left me with a sense of dread. However, as they say, don't judge a book by its cover, so I decided to give it a chance.
Upon entering the hotel, I quickly realized that its lack of maintenance extended beyond the facade. The interior was no exception to the disarray, and it was evident that this place had seen better days. The lobby area was dark and gloomy, with outdated decor and an overall feeling of abandonment. It seemed as though no effort had been made to improve or renovate the hotel in quite some time.
The room I was assigned to was, thankfully, in better condition than the rest of the hotel, but it still left much to be desired. The fixtures in the bathroom were outdated, rusty, and far from appealing. Using the bathroom was an experience I would rather forget. The furniture in the room also seemed to belong to another era, with worn-out upholstery and an overall shabby appearance. It felt like a time warp to the past.
One of the few positive aspects of the hotel was its proximity to the airport. If you're an aviation enthusiast, you might enjoy the frequent views of planes taking off and landing. However, for the average traveler looking for a good night's rest, the constant noise from the airport became a significant drawback. The lack of soundproofing in the rooms made it difficult to sleep, especially during the night.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. While it may be conveniently located near the airport, the lack of maintenance, outdated facilities, and overall eerie ambiance make it an unsettling and unpleasant place to stay. If you value a good night's sleep and a comfortable environment, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your accommodation needs.
Nice Hotel. It's location is superb nearby T3 terminal. Looks untidy from outside but given the kind of operations in such a huge property it's decent enough. Staff is friendly and helpful. Economic and worth it to tarrif.
It's an old heritage hotel, doesn't have all the modern architecture but it's such a nice vibe. Also the mattresses are really comfy. Definitely worth the stay.
During my recent visit to the Centaur Hotel, I had mixed feelings about the experience. The first impression of the hotel from the outside was far from promising - it appeared non-functional and in need of maintenance. The overall upkeep of the property left much to be desired.
I had booked a superior room, and while the bathrooms were clean, the taps showed signs of neglect. Another issue I encountered was the noise from planes taking off and landing, as the hotel is situated near a busy airport strip. This noise proved to be quite disruptive, making it challenging to get a good night's sleep. On a positive note, the bed sheets were relatively clean.
In terms of amenities, the hotel offered only basic essentials like soap, shampoo, and a tea-making pot. The swimming pool was under maintenance during my visit, though I noticed workers attempting to get it back in working order.
On the plus side, the Centaur Hotel's biggest advantage is its convenient location, especially if you have an early or late flight and need a place to rest. They offer taxi services to the terminals, which can be convenient during odd hours, albeit at an additional cost. The ample parking space on the premises is a definite plus for travelers with vehicles.
However, the dining experience at the hotel left much to be desired. The food, with a limited selection of South Indian and North Indian dishes, didn't meet the expectations one might have for the price. I found the rates, such as Rs 1700 per person for the dinner buffet and Rs 4300 per room for superior accommodations, to be on the higher side for the overall experience offered.
In summary, the Centaur Hotel's main strength is its location, making it a convenient stopover for travelers with flight connections. However, the noise from the nearby airport and the condition of the facilities may deter some guests. While it offers ample parking and essential amenities, the value for money, particularly in terms of dining options, could be improved. Overall, it serves more as a transit point than a destination in itself.
One of the most appalling hotels I've stayed at in my life and I travel once every week to delhi. Didn't realise it was run by govt of India otherwise I would never have booked.
When we tried to check in they said they didn't have our reservation even without checking the computer the lady at the reception just denied. I had to request another younger gentleman to check who immediately found it and did our procedure.
Called the room service number for a menu they asked me to call the reception after three calls and waiting for one hour I finally got the menu when I called room service again they said most items were not available and gave me three items to choose from which were.
Got a call in the middle of the night telling me that I did not extend my stay and that I had to pay extra when I asked the clerk at the desk to recheck my booking dates he realised that I had one more day of stay left and he just hung up without an apology.
Lifts don't work half the time properly.
Service is abysmal.
Good property with good overall construction. It has lot of rooms. Employees are even good. But the problem is with terribly bad maintenance... water is so hard that I did not even take bath... AC can't be controlled for temperature. Food is not good... next time when I visit Delhi definitely I won't stay here... never ever.
