Cave of Siddhnatha - Tourist attraction in Surla - North Goa, India

Very nice and historical place. Gives you the feel and makes you feel divine and peaceful. CAVE OF SIDDHANATH (Surla - Tar, Bicholim). This is a lateritic cave which can be dated to the early medieval period on stylistic grounds. It consists of a simple rectangular cell which has a squarish Yonipitha with a Linga and two pillars and pilasters in the porch. The open courtyard in front is carved out of the some rock surface showing developed architectural elements in the rock cut architecture of Goa. Source- DOAA Borad.

The archeology society should vist the place and evaluate it. The ground inside the structure has been cemented, electric light been put. Even below the linga the structureis cemented. I would have liked the structure cleanly maintenaned but not altered.

One time visit for those interested in history. Nothing much to see. Just a beautiful cave and a shivling in between

Nothing major to explore. But peaceful place to visit.

Surla caves.. another protected ASI site.. cave built within a small hill and has Shivling... Historic place... One can visit this place along with Pandava caves both are close by

It's an old historic place which has been converted to a shiv temple now. Nothing major to do here. You can visit and complete the trip in less than 5 mins. For tourists- no point visiting unless you wanna see Surla mosque or some other close by place. I didn't even stay for 2 Mins.

In Ancient time this was an important place, now it's a ruin... This is a lesson of life. Be in trend or else the world will forget you within no time. This is how life is... Change is constant, be it anything it should change otherwise it will get lost in the course of time...
