Castle Bera - Hotel in Bera - Pali, India

Where to even begin to write a review worthy of our stay at Castle Bera? First off, please don't let the hotel star rating deter you. This is in a different league to hotels and only those who cherish unforgettable and valuable experiences in life would really enjoy all the many charms of this place. Our drive to Bera was beautiful and we were welcomed warmly. The first impression of Castle Bera is breathtaking - this amazing lit up building is tucked away inside a small street surrounded by houses. Check-in took no time. The staff are lovely - Harsh (manager) and Fatehram were always available and helpful. Despite us not knowing hindi, they went out of their way to make sure we had enough water, food etc. The leopard safaris were amazing - the drive up the rocks on a gypsy is a real adventure. We saw about 7 leopards and 1 bear on our trips. We really enjoyed the food - it was simple and tasty. It was my mom's birthday and they arranged for a cake and drinks. And the whole host family and their other guests joined us. Which brings me to our hosts, if the other reasons are not more than enough to go to Castle Bera, the hosts are a reason on their own. Listening to Mr.Baljeet's and his children's stories were absolutely lovely - they've got a great sense of humour, genuine hospitality and really make their guests feel at home. They went out of their way to make my mom's birthday special and spent time with us during meals, showing us books about the history of the family etc. If you enjoy meeting new and interesting people, learning a bit of history, love wildlife and beautiful landscapes, Castle Bera is the place to go. They have pioneered the safaris and hospitality in that region. And it's not often that you go to a home stay as a guest and leave feeling like a friend.

Hidden gem . 1. Place = a heritage property with all modern amenities 2. Food = true rajasthani cuisine with genuine hospitality 3. Safari= best drivers and guides 4. Hosts = going out of their way to make the trip memorable. Must go and stay if you are looking for unique stay and want to visit beautiful landscape.

Safari Heaven!! We so enjoyed our stay at the Castle with lengthy safaris with good sighting both morning and late afternoon. Our suite was comfortable and clean. The meals were delicious, featuring a different magnificent meal each night. But the best was our host who took wonderful care of us during our 4 night stay. In addition, the staff was always around and exceedingly friendly and helpful. Recommend highly!

Beautiful heritage property. One of the best place to see Leopards. The safari staff put a lot of effort to make sure that the guests get to see Leopards. Food here is awesome. Room are cozy. The owner Mr Baljeet Singh make sure to spend time with every guest and share some amazing stories. Definitely a place to visit. The jawai dam is also lovely and the owner arrange for hi team at the dam if you happen to visit during full Moon time. Enjoy the view of the dam with snacks and drinks while speaking with Mr Baljeet and hearing stories about the place and it's history etc. Lil costly price wise but then the hospitality and the comfort and most importantly the safari makes up for the price

We had an amazing stay at Castle Bera. First of all the hospitality is top notch. Dining space has a mesmerising setup. Food is amazing as well. They gave Kalakand in the dessert which was yum. Coming to Safari, it was an incredible experience. Narayan ji made sure we spot a Leopard. Both Morning and Evening Safari were of 3 hours and Luckily we spotted Male Leopard, Female Leopard and cub. They provide binoculars as well in the Safari for spotting. Thakur Baljeet Singh ji also greeted us at Dinner as well as Breakfast. Highly recommend this place.

Great experience. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Food is so tasty that We didn't missed our home. the driver who took us for Safari was so energetic, We enjoyed it a lot. Alongwith leopard sighting We also had a great experience of high hills trekking in Jeep.

Wonderful Home away from Home. Truly felt the Hospitality dripping. Courteous Staff, the Owner was such a Great Host, entertained us All evening after 2 Safaris, one Early morning at 5 and the other in the Evening at 4. Quaint Rooms & the pictures that adorn the walls speak of its Historic lineage. The Rest Rooms had a 100 year old fresco on its ceiling !!!! Awesome. Superb Stay, would definitely deserve a second visit.

First of all we didn't stayed here and thank God we didn't stayed. But while we were looking for booking the stay near jawai this place was showing with 20k+ budget, so while returning back we thought to check out the property so that on our next visit we might stay there, firstly reaching there itself is a task as it's inside City and not easily located than we reached to parking inside and asked that we want to do booking and inquiry but that one Boy (Not proper gaurd - who is looking after two places adjoining one this and next to this another one, and he was so rude still we insisted if we can get access to reception or someone to talk with and check out property, there was no one and no such thing) we looked from outside the property it's same like most of old haveli in rajasthan where joint families used to stay with 8-9 rooms into it and with white color paint done outside which is looking so good in pics in reviews. But this experience was something like unexpected in hospitality sector even by any single person and if they can't identify tourist or customer..god save the business.. and even another 2-3 persons who were carrying food they interfere and showed us gate to go away .. than being little upset I checked all the reviews thoroughly... mostly you can check some reviews gives 1 star and good about property and other some reviews seems like either references or paid-one. They might be good in food and with their stories but seems from other reviews rooms are not that great nor worth the money...most of reviews mentioned about good safari part...which is amazing experience for the same you need not to stay and spend such hefty amount with less of hospitality..
