Casa Menezes - A Heritage Goan Homestay - Hotel in Goa Velha, Panaji - North Goa, India

Owners are extremely friendly and helpful. House is beautiful with lots of character. Restaurant attached to the homestay serves delicious and authentic made to order food. We hope to return next year!

Beautiful, quiet & peaceful stay; super clean room & hot shower with all modern conveniences, including wifi. It was an authentic place to stay. Owners are friendly & offering to help with anything you may need. I really enjoyed my stay there! The restaurant serves authentic Goan dishes, made as per order.

Cannot speak highly enough of Casa Menezes as a place to stay in Goa. David and Nicole make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive, and no matter how long your journey it is like you have returned 'home'. The homestay is well located in Goa with easy access to both the North and South, the rooms are extremely comfortable and authentic to traditional Goan decor, the breakfast quite frankly the best Goan food we ate throughout our whole trip, and David's knowledge of Goa with arrangement for taxis makes for a fantastic stay. Oh and did I mention the pool to allow you to mellow if you wanted to stay in?! I stayed as a Goan-Australian and was with my Australian fiance, her parents and my Goan mother. No matter our nationality, we all had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning!

We stayed a night in Casa Menezes a few days back & what remains in mind is the thoughtful care David took of us. From suggesting a nice dinner place, to taking us cycling in the morning, arranging a refill for my car that was out of petrol & then curating an itinerary for us, he made us feel so looked after. Also, we felt really comfortable with his family - unlike some other homestays where the host remains distant, David was so friendly, effortlessly amiable & good to talk to! We felt like we were visiting family friends! The only issue we faced was the quality of accommodation - the room we were allotted on ground floor does not have proper ventilation (because the windows do not have a mosquito mesh & hence cannot be opened & the ACs worked only intermittently at night). Felt quite claustrophobic. Also, the entire place seemed to be under renovation - the restaurant, main bungalow, garden area. There is nothing to do in the evenings - no living space to mingle with other guests / read a book / play a board game etc...particularly if you are on the ground floor & the place goes deathly quiet so it feels unsafe to even walk outside. Casa Menezes is a truly remarkable place to call home when visiting Goa. Not only is the traditional house filled with history and all the comforts that you need, its superb location also makes it an ideal starting point for exploring both northern and southern Goa. The best thing about Casa Menezes however are the owners, Nicole and David, as well as their friendly and professional staff. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and homely. When at Casa Menezes, I strongly recommend to have lunch and/or dinner there. The food is truly outstanding, combining elements of Goan, Indian and Portuguese cuisine!

David, Nicole and their team made our stay very comfortable. The room is spacious and cozy. Bathroom has sufficient toiletries. Their dogs Lulu and Phoebe are very friendly. Food served is fresh, tasty and homely. No menu is available, but they can whip up most dishes, Goan/ Portuguese dishes are their speciality. It's easy to access and located perfectly to explore local sights. We enjoyed our stay here.

What an awesome affordable gem of a place in the quaint village of Betim in Goa ! If you are looking for an authentic Goan experience this is undoubtedly the place to be. Housed in 200+ year old heritage building it transports you to have forgotten era . The host David and his wife will go out of their way to help you and make your stay a truly pleasurable experience. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable. The included scrumptious breakfast is a delight for your culinary pleasures. They will also custom cook a wonderful dinner for your party at your request .

Nice Place and Great Host. We had a short but good stay at this Homestay. Host David is a great person and very helpful. He personally looks after the guests and to our surprise he was even awake at 1:30 AM when we checked in. Good Service and being a good host needs a lot of patience and a good mindset. Definitely David and his team possesses those quality. His knowledge is great and He also recommended some places in Goa for Lunch and Coffee.
