Carlton House - Home Stay in Yercaud - Salem, India

This is a Brilliant space to stay. The family that runs it treats you like family. We literally had all our meals with them. Be sure to check out the tree house, space cabin. We stayed there for 2 days and didn't know how time flew by. Let your worries take a holiday as you can find the best of peace of mind here. I personally loved the attention to detail here. Every small need of ours was looked into. The suite we stayed in was super uber and we would highly recommend staying here. Be sure to call them and you will be in for a treat.

A Disappointing Homestay Experience My recent homestay experience at Carlton House was far from what I had envisioned. The pictures on the website painted a picture of a charming and cozy retreat, but the reality was a far cry from that. Uncomfortable Accommodations Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the lack of proper furnishing in the cottage. The beds were uncomfortable, they were saggy and caused back pain. The living area was equally spartan, with only a few mismatched chairs and a rickety table. Tasteless Food The meals served at the homestay were another major disappointment. The food was bland and tasteless, with limited options to choose from. The portions were also quite small, leaving me feeling hungry and unsatisfied. Poorly Maintained Property The overall condition of the property was quite neglected. The path leading to the cottage was poorly lit and difficult to navigate, especially at night. The stairs were poorly maintained, with slippery patches that made it hazardous to climb. Lack of Storage and Slow Water Taps The cottage was also lacking in basic amenities. There were no storage hooks to hang our clothes, making it difficult to keep things organized. The water taps in the bathroom were extremely slow, making it a frustrating task to take a shower or wash my hands. Overpriced and Not Worth the Money Given the overall state of the homestay, I found the price to be unreasonably high. The experience was far from what I had paid for, and I felt that I had not received good value for my money. Coffee Coffee served was pathetic. the coffee powder used was of very low quality. feels like drinking charcoal mixed coffee. Overall, my experience at Carlton House was a major letdown. The uncomfortable accommodations, tasteless food, and poorly maintained property made for a less-than-enjoyable stay. I would not recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable retreat.

I liked going around here. The birdwatching. The shooting. The sky gazing. The dreaming. I just forgot Bombay and my life there. This place makes you wanna shift to the hills. Be sure to choose their meal plan with the stay. You won't have to go anywhere and enjoy all your time here. Ashish, mahesh uncle and Aunty were the icing on top of the cake. They are very accommodating. The conversations I had with each of them were very different. Let the charm of nature take you on a peace train here. The nostalgia, the vibes here make me wish I didn't have to go back. Kudos team. Keep it up.

Very nice place to stay. Host is very kind and welcome. They are very nice to everyone and the hospitality is awesome. Their breakfast is one of the best we had which is very homely and great. But our stay in one of the Tree house was not a great experience for us. It is windy when we stayed and we could hardly sleep sure to cracking noise. The property is well maintained great to take pictures every inch of this place itself.

Overall the stay was okay. The swing bed room was good, but avoid the tree house as it's not very hygeince due to the tree bugs then lot of other noise from different parts of room(needs maintenance) which may not give a good sleep. Ashish and Uncle, Anti are very welcoming. This place is full of floura and fauna. Price is on a higher side based on the experience you get. Service needs improvement. If you are in a big group recommended, small family may not be good.

Hey there, I'm Sakshi! Just had the most wonderful time at Carlton House with my family and pet. It's a real winter wonderland, spacious and surrounded by nature's beauty. The sight of natural trees and plants was so refreshing. We fell in love with everything about this place and can't wait to go back. If you're looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of life, this is it. Pack your bags, bring your loved ones (even the furry kind), and make sure you experience this gem at least once in your lifetime.

Carlton house- a place where you can hear the birds sing in chorus beautifully, a place where you can simply forget all your worries and soak in the nature, a home away from home especially when it comes to home cooked food - the hosts customized the food and cooked meal as per my family, which was so great! As a pet parent, it's really difficult to find a pet friendly place in true sense. But Carlton house definitely ticked mark all that I was looking for my dog to enjoy along with us- an enclosed free space to run for him, food as per his need & a large large space to sniff around We had a lovely evening celebrating my mom's birthday - watching the sunset, a bonfire, lovely food & yummiest brownies arranged by the host !! This is a place where one can vibe with family as well as friends .. Definitely coming back .. Thank you Ashish & aunty ..

Went on trip with our friends. Place is pretty green, very peaceful, full of amenities, really good host including Ashish and his mother, gave us lots of memories. Would love to go back again in future. Highly recommended.
