The Carippa Memorial Park is a large plot of land dedicated to the valiant IAF veteran Field Marshall K M Cariappa; it is open to the public. The Park is closed for now. The greens are overgrown and it appears to have been left to nature. Probably a good thing.
At a distance of 5 Kms from Bangalore City Railway Station, Cariappa Memorial Park is situated in a portion of the parade ground between MG Road and Cubbon road. Spread over 22 acres, it is one of the famous parks in Bangalore.
Established in 1996, it was laid in the memory of Field Marshall KM Cariappa who served Indian Army. The park has a small waterfall with a pond which attracts a lot of birds. The park has an entrance plaza and a seven feet monolithic monument of Cariappa. Six military bands perform every fortnight. The grassy dunes around the bandstand provide comfortable seating for the public. The garden is maintained by various divisions of the Army. About 3000 species of plants and trees both indigenous and imported can be found here. The park has a play area for kids.
Timings: Week days - 5:30 - 8 PM, Saturdays - 1 - 7 PM & Sundays - 9 AM - 7 PM.
It is maintained pretty neatly. Several peoples will come in the morning for walk and jog. It will be open twice in a day i.e early morning and then evenings. Well maintained I would say almost plastic free.

A play area has been scientifically created in military style to improve physical strength and mental co-ordination of children. There are sand pits, a spiderweb, Tarzan-swing, Burma bridge, zig-zag tunnels and balance bars. A walker's track, paved with cobblestones, is 1.8 kms long. About 3000 species of plants and trees both indigenous and imported can be found here. In an effort to be eco-friendly, no chemical fertilisers or pesticides are used for growth or maintenance of the plants. A walker's track, paved with cobblestones, which is 1.8 kms long is ideal for long walks.

A thick forest land. Once converted to park but now closed for public. This can be called one of lung spaces of central Bangalore.
Great place to spend time. Unlike other parks, good army memorial theme. Good place to take kids too.
