Candolim Sands - Hotel in Candolim, Calangute - North Goa, India

My family booked Candolim Sands to celebrate my birthday on the 14th & 15th of November. If there is anything I can say about the place is the fact that it is devious from what is seen in the pictures on Google and MakeMyTrip to what it actually was. My negative remarks are in the bullet points as follows: * When we entered the place it most definitely lacked hygiene and basic cleanliness it came as a shock to me that there were hardly 3 tables in their dine-in area which was basically just next to their reception table. * We were made to wait almost 40 mins due to early check-in, but when we we entered the rooms that were alotted to us on the first floor there was no wow factor about the rooms, they were boring, paintings on the rims of the doors was untidy, bathroom had dirty pipes, the mirrors were dirty, their T.V did not work at all infact it did not work for both the nights we were there for, there was no provison of toothpastes/hairdryers/comb or basic toiletries only 2 tiny 'Medimix' soaps were provided. * Their hotel WiFi wasn't working at all and when we complained to the reception but they said our phones are the problem! * There was no good view to stand from your balcony and look at cuz on the website the angles are diffrent but the reality of it is just something else! * We were 6 people who checked in for 2 rooms and yet for some reason they managed to provide only 4 towels (2 in each room). * The Bedsheets & Duvets were torn! *The pool was one of the most saddest pools I'd been to ... - The baby pool was like 3 or 4 ft. But the adult pool was said to be 5.3 ft. but I'm pretty sure those aren't even the correct measures cuz a child of 4 ft could easily walk around their deep end - The pool was extremely small, it felt like u enter and that's just it, it ends as it starts, It looks big on the pictures but in person not at all. - The pool wasn't maintained, There was no automated filtration or chlorine that was added to the pool, there were leaves inside, the walls of the pool had green moss & more importantly the steps to come into the pool were broken and can be hazardous to anyone near it. - The surroundings and views around the pool were also a sad sight as their benches were not clean, their hammock was broken, there was some mini- renovation which included digging & bricking the place which seemed rather unpleasant to the eyes of a guest. * The rules on the board of the pool said that one is supposed shower before they enter the pool but when i entered the shower bathroom it was a Gender neutral bathroom which had Urnin all over their comodes and urin & spit floating around in the men's urinal pot, hence due to the disgusting sight before me I was forced to enter the pool as i was. * There was no such thing as an in-house buffet system or whatever soo we had to move out the hotel in search of something to eat, if you want to eat anything inside the hotel you HAVE TO PAY for it, even for as something as basic as water were asked to pay for it on the second day. * The complimentary breakfast that was given to us was pure veg and we weren't even asked what we would like to eat they just brought puri and bhaji and poha and that was it. The tea wasn't hot, the food wasn't that tasty either. * The refrigerators weren't working properly Infact in my room there was leakage from the fridge and the ice cream & cake we stored in the fridge for that one day got spoiled due to improper functioning of the fridge. * There was absolutely nothing classy about the place nobody in the staff had uniforms it looked rather unprofessional but thats just besides the point being that the maintenance of the place is extremely disappointing, From the view outside and itself on the inside. It is okay place if u just want a place to sleep and spend more time outside, there nothing idealistic or outstanding about this place! My family and I were extremely disappointed with this place and for the price that was charged was 2.9k (4 adults) total 11,607/- . A total scam for a place like that! A COMPLETE RIP OFF & SCAM!

Very dirty room. Rude and arrogant staff. Asked for extra money when I reached hotel. The room shown in the photos have nothing to do with reality. Most of the reviews here are fake they themselves rate them good. Don't fall in the trap.

The stay at Candolim Sands was very a disappointing one... The place had no hygiene or cleanliness. The WiFi didn't work at all and when we complained it was told to us that our phones were the problem. The Duvets & Bedsheets were torn, basic toiletries were not provided, The pool was dirty and steps were broken, only 2 towels were provided for a group of 6 people for just one day. The T.V did not work the refrigerator did not function properly. Altogether total scam & very disappointing place. It looks nothing like it's online pictures !

Only positive :Rooms were decent Negatives: Pool is available till only 7pm, which they will not inform unless asked. We were scammed in this case. Water in the pool is very unclean. Except the room all other features are substandard. Location is a bit confusing, but still not a show-stopper. When we tried to contact them before check-in, they did not accept the calls. Overall, if you only require a decent room which you can rate for 7.5 then this is ok.

I stayed in this property for 3 nights. This property is located very close to the main road of candolim. The beach is not as near as it is mentioned. If you walk it will take around 10 mins to reach the candolim beach. The room was neat and clean and the staffs were very well behaved. However, During my stay the television was not working which I informed the hotel staff but they have not done anything to get it fixed. The pool was clean, mosquitoes were there however they will provide you with mosquito repellent. Hotel staff is very helpful as they helped me to rent a scooty. Outside foods are allowed in the room.

Great hotel with deceant pool.owner bhaiya was really supportive with 5 star services supportive owner.reasonable price rooms were neat and clean. We really enjoyed our goa vacation as candolim and calangute beach are at a distance of 1 km. visit this hotel and enjoy the awesome vibes.

We could have opted for other hotels in the vicinity but again, we chose Candolim Sands and it didn't disappoint. The stay was wonderful. The bed and pillows were so comfortable we felt entirely rested and energised. As this was our third stay, I couldn't help but keep a sharp eye on the details, to see what has changed, not to be critical but more out of curiosity. The entire staff has changed, we couldn't recognise any face, but the service level remain above expectation. Ofcourse, the location has always been a plus point. Our favourite places were within short walking distance. No doubt we're more impressed than ever. We will definitely be your guest again!

Worst hotel in goa. Don't visit this hotel everrrrr. Pool was very dirty, cockroaches all over, rooms were not clean, very bad bad bad experience. Hated the day I checked in such a worst property.
