CALCUTTA 64 - Cafe in Kolkata - 24 Paraganas North, India

Calcutta 64 is very popular cafe near City Centre 1 and they don't need any introduction. Wanted to visit them for long time and finally got a chance. Vibe is super, lot of tables, nice music and well-behaved staffs. Oreo Vanilla Shake @ Rs.240 (5/5) --------------------------------------- It's one of their most popular shakes and it tasted amazing. Just the perfect portion of creme and oreo with perfect amount of sweetness. Highly recommended. Fish and Chips @ Rs.220 (4/5) --------------------------------- Excellent filling of fish and crispy layer outside, served with an awesome dip and some french fries. Although fish fry was served little oily, could've been soaked on a nappy before serving but it tasted good. Highly recommended. Double Chicken Steak @ Rs.500 (2/5) ------------------------------------------ In the name of creamy mushroom sauce it felt like black paper soup. Punch of black pepper was so deep that mushroom nor the chicken taste was prominent. Once again herb rice and butter goodness couldn't be felt due to excessive black pepper. Chicken breast could've been little more grilled. For Rs.500 anyone would expect way more perfection, so it was total loss for me. Conclusion -------------- Although this cafe is very beautiful and running long in business but they still are way behind in perfectioning dishes. On the other hand, their prices aren't very cheap, food quality somehow doesn't justify the price. So my recommendation will be visit them for their ambiance, have a coffee or shake and mostly a starter but don't go beyond that.

My first ever visit to a cafe. It serves top notch food within a somewhat reasonable price. Tried the Fish n Chips & mexican pizza, which turned out way better than we could have wished for.

One of the best cafes around City Centre Salt lake. This place has never disappointed me. The location is really convenient as it's on the main road towards the exit. The food is really delicious and well cooked, a must try is the honey glazed chicken , the chicken white sauce pasta along with the cafe frappe with ice cream. The service is also great and there are enough waiters so you don't get ghosted :'). The Atmosphere is cozy and very homely and there is a live music counter, if you're lucky you could experience an unplugged concert.

This is my favourite cafe. Food quality and portion size are amazing according to the price. Ambience is also nice. Must try their fish and chips, caramel custard, sandwiches.

Good cafe, neat and clean. Good ambient music. Food is mehh. The sandwich I ordered was extremely dry. The chicken inside was thready. There wasn't much seasoning . The caramelised onions inside which were cut so big, that was difficult to eat through. Change the chef or actually supervise! The coffee is good, but then it's out of the Machine. So it's difficult to get it wrong. I will probably go back but for the atmosphere, not the food.

We have ordered few items like fish n chips, chelo kebab and chicken steak with butter n lemon juice alongwith sweet lime soda, ginger lemonade and caramel custard as a dessert. Let me break each dishes in detail so that it would help all of us to judge and order the right dishes when going with frenz or family . 1. Fish n chips was ok , it was not upto the standard of what you get in cafe or restaurant in park Street or even n in salt lake. It was little dry n chewy instead of tender and juicy. 2. Chicken steak was quite below average given the price tag comes with it. Again it was dry and flaky. I had better experience in many other cafe. 3. Chelo kebab ..well it's my fault that I expected it to be good like chelo kebab in Peter cat or mocambo. It's not even near to the standard of these restaurants. It's awful. Normal thick rice was used , kebab was very dry. It's like dal chawal rice was used in chelo kebab.. never even try this item. 4. Caramel custard is really awesome and quite delicious. One shud definitely order for this dessert if u r unsure of any other. Ginger lemonade is something different and one can try this. I liked it. And lemon soda was good too.Heard chocolate brownie is also good but I will give it a try next visit. However prices of these dishes are charged to a level of any cafe or restaurant in park Street. So why not go kpark Street than this. One thing I must say about their service is that they are extremely polite, services are really fast(may be due to the lunch time only 2-4 people were there but still it's fast. Ambience is really good.. If u do not have time to go out of salt lake then one can visit here. But at the end of the day, food quality matters which they are lagging behind given t prices they charge. It has got over 4 ratings, there must be other many items which are good which I would try in near future time.

The atmosphere & the location is great. The pizza was not up to the mark but one should try fish fry items here. It's pretty good

Beautifully decorated cafe with full on aesthetic vibes The interior and ambience is top notch Though I was in a rush so I've tried only beverage there next time will be some delicacies there for sure Staffs are courteous Prices are on a high note so have a look at there menu before visiting
