Been visiting this place for a very very long time and it never disappoints . The service is excellent and quick. Mostly busy. Location central. Parking space available- four wheelers will be charged to park. Staff accommodating. Total of three areas available to sit- two downstairs and full AC upstairs. Daily specials available. Can pay by cash or card and Google pay. Not wheelchair friendly. Full Vegetarian Menu. Will definitely recommend visiting.
Tatyager chao marya
Hi....Went to Cafe Tato in the 2nd week of July for an evening bite after visiting the churches.
The menu was predominantly veg.
Lot of snack items that one can sample.
We had the suki bhaji and puri, mushroom samosa, Cheese Pakora, Chili Pakora and Ice cream falooda amongst other items.
A nice place for an evening bite and breakfast.
Below was some info I picked from an article in Gomantak Times about Tato's
Tato's', as it is commonly known today, has a wide range of vegetarian cuisine. Their speciality is their mouth-watering puri bhaji, which has a range of options to choose from. Right from sukhi bhaji (potato), chana bhaji (chickpeas), salaad bhaji (onions) and mix bhaji (a mix of all the bhajis together). Their wide menu also includes other bestsellers such as vegetarian thalis, buns, sheera, samosas and batata vadas
Cafe Tato, which began business in 1913, is now almost 109 years old! The family-run business has been passed down almost four generations and is currently being run by Pradeep Govind Dhuri. Informing us of the origin of the eatery's catchy name, he told us, "Tato's got its name after my grandfather's pet name. Everybody used to lovingly address him as 'Tatya'."
Undoubtedly, every Goan Catholic will relate to the phrase "Chao marya mare?" ("Let's grab a cup of tea?") after Sunday Mass or anytime the susegad Goan needs to take a break (which is virtually at any point of the day). But for people in Panjim in particular, the phrase changes, somewhere along the lines of "Tatyager chao marya" ("Let's go have a cup of tea at Tato's").
Great place for evening tea. Enjoyed the Puri bhaji. The staff were very hospitable.
We reached a little before 7.30 am for breakfast. When we inquired about the opening time, we were told it opens at 7.30 sharp and the further closed the shutter
It finally opened at 7.30 and people had already come in. We got a place and ordered alsande bhaji, sukka bhaji and mushroom bhaji with puri and on the suggestion of the staff we tried it with pao.
Out of the dishes we tried mushroom bhaji was absolutely amazing. Followed by the sukka potato bhaji and alsande.
Definitely a must try place.

Cafe tato is serving the goan cuisine for yeras now ! And is one of the go to places not only for goans but even the tourists !
Not to forget , that it is 'The Sachin Tendulkars favourite spot as well ' .
The ambiance is quite decent and the prices are quite affordable!
Sitting space is quite limited and hence there is waiting during rush hours !
Every goan's favourite go to breakfast

Their buns is a must have. The texture and taste is very good.
Serving happiness over hundred years, this place is undoubtably goa most loved place for breakfast and other meals. started by one of the most renowned citizens of goa who everyone called Tato, this place is a true legacy.
From sukhi bhaji and patal bhaji, they have variety of authentic goan breakfast that will thrill your taste buds like never before. The special buns and puri add all the more flavors to all their bhaaji.
Being a person who doesn't eat sukhi bhaji anywhere else, I can't stop at one over her.
Heres to all what we had:
* Mix bhaaji,
* Patal bhaaji
* Mrichi bhaji
* Samosa
* Chana masala
Everything we had here, or rather been having here since ages, promises of taste, quality and quantity. Hats off for maintaining the food and taste consistency since ages and bringing smile on everyone's face.
I have been stepping through their doors since I was a kid and writing about them makes me feel honored.
Thank you tato for having me
This was my first visit to one of the oldest Cafes in Goa serving people since hundred years. A must visit if you are around Panjim for trying all the local goan snacks.
Recommend trying the Sukhi Bhaaji with Puri.

The atmosphere and ambience were warm and welcoming. The way in which a simple old Goan house can be converted into such lovely cafe while retaining all of its old elements is beautiful. The service and food were both great!
