Cafe Offbeat Up There - Rooftop Cafe - Restaurant in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

I am giving the review a little late. But, my feedback is still the same. We held our 1st Wedding Anniversary in here and it was an outstanding event. The management was really helpful and they have well managed the event. No doubt, the food is 5 out of 5. You can visit the place anytime you want and the food will always be delicious. Moreover, it is a rooftop so the ambience along with the food and light music was a soothing environment for us. A must go place and I'll suggest others to visit the place.

It was a date evening. We ordered hot and sour chicken soup and it was delicious. Also ordered tasty white sauce pasta Environment and feel was great for a perfect date night! Oh and of course there best sunset view if the sky is clear

We visited this place few months ago, for someone special birthday purpose. Ambience was soo good. They have both outdoor and indoor sitting area . We preferred outdoor sitting area. Rooftop view was so good . But one point we are disappointed cause the service was not so good. We ordered birthday cake for someone's birthday and they don't have any cake available or making facilities. Also we ordered through swiggy they don't allow to deliver the cake upstairs and also they refuse to collect the order . So i have to go downstairs and collect the order. This part was really disappointing for me cause i never expected this kind of service they provided. Good part was if you have any pet in your house so you don't need to worry about that. They allow pets in their cafes. We carried our baby dog and he enjoyed a lot

Today(11.11.2023) was my second time here for dinner at Cafe Offbeat... Awesome food quality, soothing ambience, very good service.. also there was a lady named Moumita(by designation, I think she is a Guest relation executive person), she is very helpful; We was confused to select food, she helped us with great & delicious suggestions.. I must say a very good hospitality is there...

1. This is not a hostel. It is a dormitory. You have 8 or 9 rooms in one floor, each with 10 to 18 beds. No common area, no chill out, meet new people, nothing. 2. None of these 8 or 9 rooms have attached bathrooms. There is 1 common washroom area with 2 wash basins, 3 showers and 3 closets. Everyone from the 8 rooms have to use this. 3. The lockers are not in the rooms either. They are all stacked up in one tiny room. If you want something, you need to go to the locker room and get it. They give you the key to the locker though, which is good. 4. Male and Female are 2 different floors. There's no concept of mixed room where men and women stay together. The problem with this is that men tend to become careless/untidy when they know it is only other men in the floor. This also eliminates the chance to make new friends, if you are a solo traveller, by 50%. 5. This is not a place for travellers. Majority of the people staying here are students, etc. who are staying here on a long term basis. For them, this is like a college hostel. 6. The security staff - all the security staff except one - Dilip Sheth - are extremely rude. For no reason, they'll gang up on you and do not even have the patience to listen to what you want to say. 7. If you are one of those travellers who is "working from home", forget this place. There's no place to take calls. 8. While there is a gym, co-working space, etc. in the same building, everything is off limits for us. 9. The cleanliness - even though the house keeping staff clean the entire floor every morning, the washrooms especially gets dirty in no time. Thanks to the only-men configuration they have, the men don't even care to flush and maintain basic hygiene. 10. There are geysers in every bath area, but in all the days I stayed there, I could not get even one of them to actually work. The switch was on, but there was no hot water coming out. 11. The hotel in the ground floor is pretty good. The staff over there is also hospitable. The reception staff are also hospitable. 12. Finally the location - this place is quite out of town - on a bypass road. The bus connectivity to this place is quite limited. However, there is a metro station getting built right in front of this hostel. Once it is ready, it will be easily accessible.

The backpackers accommodation was not that great over here. It doesn't justify the concept, nor the price nor the services and hospitality which other providers such as Zostel and Hosteller's have been doing. Room: Issues with beds, the beds don't have curtains to cover, hence if someone walks into the room, they lit up the entire room at night, causing disturbance in sleep for others. Washrooms: They were unclean & untidy. They also don't have basic toiletries. Location: Well it's neither a bad location not a great location. It's just average like rest of kolkata. Please do not just simply go by the concept of lake view, it's just untidy and unclean water over there, there is no view. Hospitality: (Issues) 1. The receptionist does not have patience, at 11 AM although you are allowed to checkout, but you can't keep your luggage or stay additionally over there for sometime they charge you for each hour. Hence, inconvenient and doesn't cater to the backpackers convenience at all. 2. Talking about food, it's quite average, the rooftop ambiance and vibes are okish, the restaurant below often doesn't have many options for breakfast. 3. The corridors are usually unclean, the walls are unclean, the staircases are unclean. They need to rework a lot with respect to hospitably. (Good things) 1. Can connect with good folks who are backpacking as well. 2. It's economical as compared to other accommodation options in Kolkata if you are travelling solo. 3. There are no restrictions and timelines, hence you can travel in and out anytime.

Last nignt I went to cafe offbeat, and I must say that its truely a wonderful place to visit. As the rooftop ambience is so good along with the awesome food quality. I would also like to thank all the service staffs of cafe offbeat for making the place so lovely to visit. I would also like to take a moment to thank Ms. MOUMITA as she have helped us in every step of the way to make mine and my wife's evening even more special. Thank you ~Soumyadip

The atmosphere and ambience was amaazingg! The food was good, but the coffee was watery to say the least.... both the warm and the cold coffee tasted like flavoured water! If this is improved, I believe the entire experience would be 5 Stars worth!
